My understanding (& bear in mind, I may not have all the facts) that both PDSC in the 90's & the present leaseholders were going to 'modernize' possibly even rebuild the main stand during their involvement. Although you cannot really tell from the photo on screen, I would say, apart from safety measure that would have had to have been made, that little has changed since it was built in the 60's.
The only thing I can see that has changed is that the terrace on the Railway side (where I used to stand) has been replaced with an enclosed betting/eating area for the greyhounds (maybe hospitality area for the speedway but wouldn't know for sure).
I have mentioned before but I would be interested to hear more about what went on at the club during the Derek Block/PDSC period. The only major change I can think of was starting to charge spectators attending the match for parking in the car park!

Well done m3. I have heard so much about the plaque, to actually see it is very motivating. Just demonstrates what can be done when everybody pulls together. My admiration for the supporters who were involved in the erection of that stand is boundless. No wonder they felt so let down when we were evicted. But that was then and this is now, using the negative and turning it into a positive will make us all the more determined to put Poole Town back where they belong. Amonst the best!

Nice one Cliff, looking at the plaque now it is quite sad. How do we now get permission to remove it and put into storage ready for BR.

Benito, perhaps someone at the club could make enquiries? I'll certainly mention it at Totton on Tuesday. I'm a bricklayer by trade and IF there is a chance of recovering the plaque then I'm willing to carry out and making good, to a professional standard, the work required. If that is indeed everyones' wishes.

Wow what a nice little piece of history, we have to liberate it. Under cover of darkness perhaps? Balaclavas at the ready

Are you Rodney or Dell Boy M3? Possibly Dell Boy. Dorset Yellow is Boycey. Slepe has to be Uncle Albert, and some would say I'd be Rodney. Gareth = Trigger. ;D
