Preview: allpoolearentwe.com/2021/09/24/preview-kings-langely-a/Your Dolphins starting XI: Childs, Rose, Jackson, Spetch (c), Dickson, Holmes, Carmichael, Moore, Bedford, Bartlett, Fletcher Subs: Cazé, Whisken, Butler (g/k), Hubbard Tommy is absent today so Micky Hubbard manages the side. Micky does have a full compliment of coaches with Andy Fletcher, Jody Rivers and Gilly all travelling. KL: Marriott (g/k), Hearn, Wood, Williams, Gurteen, Lincoln, Yamfam, Connolly, Amu, Collins (c), Williams Subs: Hoskins, Farruch, Putman, Crawford, Johnson Tony Lee ill (arrived on the coach and then quickly got off looking very unwell), Burbidge absent (probably due to the baby), Sean Wright ruled out with a twisted knee. Whisken's groin injury likely to have got the best of him, he has travelled but I don't see him warming up. Despite Poole scraping a team together, this is must win if the side has any promotion ambitions. KL are slowly trying to climb out of a hole their early season form has left them in, but wounded animals etc.

Joe Wickham still doing dual-reg duty for Shaftesbury FC? Hindsight’s wonderful, but we could have done with him at Chippenham and today. Or has he already been dismissed as first-team squad material for the time being?

I echo JT's comment. Anything less than a win will stifle our play-off hopes. TK says we do not have the finances to compete for players. All of which does not sound very optimistic.

1-0 down after a minute. Poole lose the ball in their own half, recover to halt the attack, and then stand off the attacker who plays a 20 yard effort into the back of the net.
A few minutes later Poole have a free-kick, Carmichael draws a shoddy save that rebounds to Holmes, who reacts poorly and can't capitalise.

Poole have grown into this but only behind because of their own mistakes. Yet to convert possession into opportunities however.

Corby Moore sent off for an off the ball decision - apparently left a stamp after winning the ball. No major protests.

Can tell why Kings Langley are at the bottom, Poole making all their own issues in the first half. No end product, the only feasible change is to bring Thiago on and move Spetch up top alongside Fletch.
There's the ingredients in the side to really stretch the play and use Dickson, but even before the red card there was a reluctance to switch play and create overlaps.

Poole on top and looking dangerous. Fletcher has been slipped in but can't convert one one one.

Poole penalty shout, before Dickson flies in with a cynical challenge on the half-way line.

Poole knocking at the door but fluffing chances at the moment. On top and keep pouring forward

2-0 another massive Poole mistake. No communications between Spetch and Childs, Spetch heads it past Childs who gets a glove to it, but Amu capitalises and converts.

Thx Radio Poole. I can't endure more of this torture! Where was our manager today?? no explanation given. Bring on the Emergency Player Fund; we are going to be in the SLS for a long time at the present level of results

Thx Peter. You are usually an optimist. Is it the lack of funds that is killing us?

Clearly a big factor - as Jack has pointed out several times, we have the smallest squad in the league. Lack funds for further players. Tommy made clear loan signings are challenging. With a full squad I believe we are competitive. But with few injuries and suspensions we are going to really struggle. I think we will do well to stay up unless something changes.

I agree Peter. If we can’t stop leaking early goals and soft goals, if we don’t have the players or the resources and if we can’t even beat bottom of the league village teams then we are in for another season to test the endurance of even our most loyal fans!

Without Lee, Whisken & Burbidge & with Corby sent off in first half - probably no surprise at all at the outcome.

We also have at at least a couple of senior players carrying extra timber, as a fellow supporter euphemistically puts it. Sadly, Supermarine in the FA Cup was the exception not the rule (let’s not have a team of Corby Moores), and I will be giving even the most convenient first-team fixtures a swerve for a while.
I’m still wondering who the guy in the dugout at the Winchester City away PSF actually coaching the team during the match in a positive manner was. If on-field resources are limited financially, maybe we need to break up the non-effective non-interventionist team on the sidelines.

Don't think this side will be anywhere near the relegation spaces - unless there's constant injuries until May. Just think there's too many teams with decent budgets that will earn playoff spots. I've certainly seen three worse teams than Poole already. Until the club has a permanent home, there's just always going to be a general sense of purgatory. Even if the club gets promoted there is the fact it can't move further forward. allpoolearentwe.com/2021/09/25/match-report-kings-punishment-for-poole-sloppiness/

Do we really have the smallest squad in the league, or is this Tom getting his excuses in first, and Jack repeating them for fear of losing access? I don’t think Dorchester, Wimborne, Walton Casuals, Kings Langley are better resourced than us financially.

Not just giving up on them, making flippant remarks about £3.50 loan budgets and having our ‘coach’ sign our players for Abbey Sunday morning football (Josh Carmichael the latest) In my line of work we call that a conflict of interest.

Fair point Peter, but I’m not sure whether either is true though.
