Some of you may not be aware but Fred ( worked the school turnstile for many a year) Is not very well with stage 4 Cancer, he was admitted to to the Forest Holme hospice recently but has now been moved to Wimborne Victoria Hospital Hanham ward, I visited him today and although clearly very tired was surprisingly quite positive and accepted he is very unlikely to leave the hospital but should any of you feel the need to say goodbye he is happy to receive you visiting hours are applicable and I advise you check first 2-4pm I believe and 6-8pm. Thanks for all you did Fred for our club, stay strong !!

Pippa and I popped in to see Fred this afternoon. He's happy to see visitors but gets tired very quickly so we didn't stop long. As we were coming away we bumped into Frank on his way in so he's not gonna be short of guests today. If you're thinking of going it's best to call 1st but ask for Glenn Carr which is how they know him.

I am so sorry to have to report that Fred died yesterday afternoon. Despite being so poorly he remained determined to keep in touch with news of the Club. Fred embodied the very essence of the volunteer supporter without whom non- league clubs could not survive. He will be hugely missed.
He did not want any fuss at all made of his passing and his funeral will be a very low key affair at his request.
We will have a minutes applause in his memory at the Hanwell game.

RIP dear Fred - that turnstile will never be the same and you will never be forgotten.
How about naming that turnstile by the clubhouse after Fred?

Lovely touch with the min silence just a shame the stadium announcer didn’t tell anyone what it was for
