There are many contributors who i do not see on here any more. Have they given up?
Lets Face it, This should have been a Home Fixture but because we are wedded to bxxxxy Tatnam and its never ending drainage problems we have lost a couple of home fixtures including this Trophy match which could have earned us some much needed cash. Will this be the last such cancellation of the season, I very much doubt it!! Is it any wonder the punters are heading up to New Cuthbury where there seems to be some sense to the operation No, I am not a WTFC supporter, I am,like some others here, a long in the tooth PTFC fan dating back to the 50s !! We are, apparently , committed to Tatnam until 2029. That is an extremely scary prospect for our Club and its supporters Meanwhile, despite the demise of the greyhounds Poole Speedway continues to operate at The SXXXXXM. Moving the Pirates back to the outer track and putting in a 3G pitch would have saved us a lot of aggro and, yes, believe it or not some of us would have put up a few pounds for that. Where are we going after Tatnam? Is there any point building an NLS capable side when we play at a sub par facility I am not a business man but our current operations, whether successful on the field or not are not destined for long term appeal to the Poole sports fans,
COME ON YOU NEW ERA DOLPHINS

Excellent game tonight. The only thing that separated us was that they had a goalkeeper who saved 2 penalties and we didn't. We roll again on Saturday COYD

Yes expat (absolutely spot on post) I am getting to the giving up point, as you say Tatnam will NEVER do if we want to progress. Fed up with the ‘Big News’ that never materialises. Fed up with vague promises, generally fed up. The Stadium site IMHO is the only viable option left. We can not progress on a school field end of.

I think that anybody with half an ounce of "savvy" would recognise that the Stadium is, and was, our natural home. What BCP Council think about that and what powers or money they have to act, who knows ?. Unless its road alterations, cycle lanes or covering what open space we have remaining with concrete I think you will struggle to get a direct answer. Best wait until 2029.

The chances of going back to the stadium is zero. If the current leaseholders gave it up maybe we could share with the speedway. But and there is a big but the speedway pulls in nearly 2000 people each week and we can only dream of these figures. The other stumbling block would be the cost required just to get it to Tatnam standards. If the directors have that sort of money to spend they would be better off funding something new rather than waste it at the stadium. With the advent of maybe Barclays House becoming flats and all the other housing that has been rumoured in that are maybe that is is where The Stadium is destined to be.
I think the obsession with the old girl needs to stop.

The stadium is dead. It won't happen. Too much needs to be done for it to a football stadium, it didn't work when we shared with speedway last time, it won't work now. And for those asking why BCP don't help, we'll, I'd forget that shower of sh*t, they haven't got two pennies to rub together and are not interested in us at all! They may have talked a good game in the past, but they're all fart and no poo.
As regards to Tatnam. Everyone knows it's far from ideal, but it's our current home for the next few years. We're not moving to Branksome, we're not moving to Bearwood and we're not moving to where we were going to move to but couldn't be told because it was a secret. Our home is Tatnam until the lease ends. If by the end of that we still have no clear plan, then hold the BOD to account. Granted, after recent false dawns it doesn't bode well, but let's hold judgement..... for now.

Thank you everyone for some great input
The only problem i see BD is that by 2029 the average crowd at Tatnam should be down to about 100!
we certainly will not be in the NLS,maybe Wimborne will be! They have the ground, they have increasing attendance and of course they have a steady source of players from PTFC
Tatnam has cost us money and prestige,is costing us money as we switch fixtures, and will cost us money until 2029
The Borough of Poole is a bit of a disaster for semi pro football isnt it?
Hammers ground unfit and their Ist Team is gone
Tatnam periodically but consistently unfit due to drainage so PTFC lose gate money and perhaps the chance to progress in Cup competitions. We wont go into the seasons that is cost us promotion;was it two or three in a row?
we may have to set up roundabouts at Tatnam to help[ the inbound and outbound traffic
I do not think that the airlift is over yet!
Back to the game. Our Twitter says we were playing with a"depleted" side
so i Guess the insertion of Whisken,Fogden and Pardoe contributed to that remark!
Frustrating;Yes because obviously we are hugely under achieving on and off the field. And it keeps happening!

Excellent game tonight. The only thing that separated us was that they had a goalkeeper who saved 2 penalties and we didn't. We roll again on Saturday COYD OR, they had players who can score from 12 yards and we at least two that couldn't.

We roll again on Saturday COYD Yus,as usual we played like gang busters in the first half! Its the full 90 minutes that count however and as you rightly point out the inability to score from 12 yards;its something of a tradition isnt it? We gave up 3000 pounds in prize money! we gave up any money we would have made on a home gate and future home gate as we had been given a home draw for the next round! we played with a "depleted" side which is apparently Poolespeak for calling up some soon to be dispensed with(?) old horses from the August/September era (remember that?) Poole supporters love an excellent game of football but most of us would prefer it if the odds werent stacked against us before the opening whistle!

As I did not attend this match I was hoping there would be a detailed account of this match on the Poole website but nothing also the Bracknell end is no better. But overall from what I can gather the penalty shoot out was not the core reason Poole lost it seems to be down to the same repeating problem the team unable to hold a lead and conceding late goals. Being a central defender surely the captain of the side must take some responsibility in marshalling the defence especially in the later stage of the match when the team seem more likely to concede goals. Also even if a squad system is in operation players should only be picked for the starting line up on merit of their play in previous games. There is now only promotion worth playing for now but if the teams present form continues that is out of the question. The only thing certain to happen is attendances dipping down to the 200 mark. Can the club survive financially on that sort of attendance number?

Ok, High pathetically what would happen if speedway were to finish. The Pirates dropped down a league for no other reason than to keep the money coming in. This can not continue with no other teams to ride against. The Elite league I believe now have 5 x teams left and the Championship has 9 x teams left. Reading on various Speedway chats Poole are not guaranteed to ride next season and are definitely in danger the season after. What would happen to the the Stadium site? Obviously housing on most of it BUT we only need a small corner to call home. Most of the facilities on the Tatnam site could be unbolted and moved so I do not think this idea is out of the question. Do you think the new residents in the new Barclays development will like noisy, dirty climate damaging speedway on their doorsteps. Wake up people!

I think you need to wake up, as it stands Tatnam is still the only choice

The only choice Roger. is to establish a winning team a winning team to appeal to the football fans of 170,000 pop. Poole At the moment,on and off the field we are in decline Perhaps Messrs Rossiter and Tubbs can turn this around Perhaps you might remember on here last season and in the Echo we were derided as the"laughing stock of Dorset Football" As a Fan i do not want the team i support to be seen in such a light If you support staying at Tatnam.losing support and credibility failing in FA competitions and seemingly destined for a mid table berth then you have to reali9se that this going to end very badly! At the top of the table sit Salisbury! How many seasons ago was it that they were demoted due to director malfeasance and bankruptcy. Not many!
UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!

I think you need to wake up, as it stands Tatnam is still the only choice Any new ground we would get in that sort of set up wouldn't necessarily only be a football ground used by 500 people once a week/fortnight and left empty through winter. Most new Non-League grounds nowadays have a 3G or 4G surface and are a 'community asset' used by the 'main' team on Saturdays (and Tuesdays) and used by local teams/schools for training throughout the rest of the week. Locally, you can hire those surfaces at Hamworthy and Wimborne, so they become a source of extra income either for the club, local FA or for the council depending on how the set-up is. I know that for some, playing on an 'artificial' surface isn't ideal but needs must, if the options are play on one or slowly risk going out of business I'm sure we'd all deal with it. If you can get ownership of the clubhouse attached to the ground then that is where the money can come in, being used through the week for bar hire or even hired in the day for other community projects (pretty sure that the bar area at the Speedway stadium is currently used as a nursery through the week, so I assume that brings regular money into the stadium owners.) It's for that reason that we need to try and get a foot in at the ever revolving door of BCP Council, and get council leaders onside and convince them that having a sports facility at the centre of any potential new development is a huge asset to the community.

Very sensible post Welsh Dragon exactly as I think. 4G pitch not ideal but as you say it has to pay and I for one will live with it. On a side note do we know that literally 2 minutes walk from the stadium car park (where I would expect our little corner would be) is a fully built, brand new never been used social club?

Stop talking common sense Benito and others!@!
we have been down this road before BUT the pro Tatnam faction write us off as a bunch of bletherers living in the past
Well,to the past I go. When PTFC had local business men behind the Club, happy to be associated with its success Well come on BOD try it. Dont let WTFC have all the glory. And i would say to the BOD the very first item on your campaign to recruit some capital is very simple
!, Put A believable team out there capable through its results of bringing back some of those who have gone astray\
2. Get on the local media of any sort and show the punters that you are going to match our believable team with SUPERLATIVE efforts to get us noticed(for the right reasons)
3. Campaign LOUDLY for a decent home facility for Poole's only semi pro football team
4. Get out there and get some of your fellow businessmen involved. we have read the reports of affluence in various parts of Town!!
% we have a lot of the necessary to do a WREXHAM/ Pass that on as well
I have told this anecdote before. When i was in the UK last year i got into a conversation with a person previously unknown to me but obviously someone who followed the Town closely. Absolutely disillusioned with our inconsistencies and our lack of progress he no longer attended Tatnam,Anything changed?.They are out there in large numbers. Bring them home!!
