Thanks to all the volunteers as always, out of interest is it the famous bottom corner or the whole pitch that's got the game called off tonight?

A Christmas Story
A warmly clad older person started along the lane that connects Poole Stadium to Tatnam Rd. It was a cold drizzly misty night, the type that eats at your bones and brings thoughts of being by the hearth As this lone figure passed the Pedestrian overbridge to Sterte Ave he was amazed to hear the clatter of old fashioned football studs coming towards him and figures appearing from the mist.
These figures as they approached seemed to be vaguely familar, they were wearing the old fashioned PTFC colours of Red and white striped shirts and black shorts
as they passed heading towards the Stadium they seemed to be quietly chanting "Dont go there" and jerking their thumbs backward
The faces of these apparitions were indistinct but our traveller thought he recognised Stan Rickaby,Jimmy Drinkwater and John Kirk amongst them.
Bringing up the rear of this ghostly procession were two young men clad in navy blue jerseys and track pants. When questioned by our traveller they said. "We are the Ball Boys, The ghosts of the Stadium past"

A Christmas Story Part 2
Our traveller continued along the laneway and turned onto Tatnam Rd. Turning left on Well Lane and on passing the site of the Old Well many dark clad figures were walking towards him "Game off mate dont bother" they said
Continuing past an odd collection of what appeared to be dark green buildings;it was very dark! a dark figure in shorts rushed past saying "Game Off, I have to tell the League"
The floodlights were on but the football ground, for that was what it was,was empty! The field glistened greenly but was pronounced as unplayable
Our traveller was informed by an unnamed source that this scenario had happened many times in the past and was unfortunately continuing into the present

A Christmas Story Part 3 Written AD2029
Glad you could all make it here to New Cuthbury on a nice afternoon Bar is just over there!
What? says our traveller. I was looking for Poole Town
Oh yes says the Wimburnian,Poole Town? They were on the brink of folding after over 10yrs at Tatnam so we made them an offer they couldn;t refuse.
As a tribute to our joint heritage we turn out in Black and Gold strip once a month !
The images passed from our travellers vision!
Happy ChristmaS

I for one enjoyed the seasonal nostalgia Ex-pat, thanks. That, for all us old timers is all we have left, memories of the good old days when we were able to recruit ex-internationals let alone ex league players. Unfortunately we are now of an age, when we can see the club is not even a shadow of what it once was. Yes we cling on to our hope of better things to come, but deep down, in todays world, know it's a mere shadow of Christma past, when we truly were the pride of Dorset.

Expat I have spent quite some time on various social media sites today. More time than I wanted. Just wanted to be sure. Where on X, as twitter is now called, or elsewhere, are people discussing voluntary relegation for the Dolphins? Can't find that nightmare scenario being discussed at all. Please enlighten me of where I need to be looking for these doom merchants & their lack of faith. Yes I want promotion to NLS & beyond. But not at any price. I thoroughly enjoy watching football in the Southern League Premier Division South. And if we have to spend an extended time at this level, fine by me. Yes I want promotion, but not if it bankrupts the club.

In other news
Bridport FC ground under several feet of water!
Heavy Rain forecast for Dorset
CD. The comment was either on FB or twitter questioning whether PTFC can finish the season' of course if we cannot then its relegation
At the present rate, with another postponement in the offing AND with no revenue stream for weeks how goes PTFC survive?

We got revenue on Saturday. The floodlight failure sent people scurrying to the bar. I definitely spent more than I intended as a result. If others did, then possibly the club got a bigger income than had the match gone the distance. When the match is played the club have made it a pay what you want match. I am a season ticket holder but may well pay a tenner to get in. Also if they choose to print a new programme I will definitely buy one. Also another 50/50 ticket. Plus of course few more Newcastle Browns or Guinness at the bar. So hopefully the club will be getting more income from me. As all the others who attend will maybe do as well. Also Winchester isn't to far from Poole, so hopefully they will still bring a good support midweek. Yes postponements hurt the club financially. But I think the club is more fiscally robust than some people on here lead us to believe. Most of the day to day & matchday running of the club is done by volunteers. Meaning the 3 main expenses are rent, rates & player's wages. Which I believe are sustainable under the current bod.
