I am sure that I remember reading in a thread a while ago about a book on the history of Poole Town.
Was there one published and is it still available?

There was a book produced by Dave2 which captured the history from 2000 to the end of the 2008 season, i think, with stats and photos. It was £8 and i think there might be one copy left in the bar.

Is somebody thinking about writing another book to include this wonderful adventure in the Vase. I can imagine it being a big seller if things turn out the way we would like them too. ;D You've probably got this in mind

If anyone else wishes to obtain a copy of the Book, please indicate in this thread. I may be able to get a small number to order.

Another very good book on The Town is;-
"Poole Town Football Club 1890- 2005" by John Powell Published by John Powell Printed by 4 Edge Limited 7A Eldon Way Eldon Way Industrial Estate Hockley Essex SS5 4AD
It was on sale in the PTFC bar for a while and John's address is on the inside cover so I don't suppose he'd mind if anyone having difficulty getting a copy contacted him - I have and he's a nice bloke;- John Powell, 74 Eastmead Avenue, Greenford, Essex UB6 9RG
It's an excellent and quite detailed read particularly if you want the early history of the club.

Thank you Brian. A more complete history is what I am looking for although I would also be interested in Dave2's updated book. I will try and contact John Powell directly.

I'd also be very interested in getting a copy. Does John Powell have an email address?

My book was produced as a follow on from John Powells original book which mainly gave a detailed history of Poole Town up to about 2000. I expanded the history from that time up until 2008.

Perhaps Dave2 can contact John Powell and publish a complete history. It would be a good book for any Dolphin. In the meantime I will take a copy of Dave2's revised book when published .
