Who knows where the stadium is

I have been investigating where the new stadium site is and I am confused.

According to the Google Earth, the Canford Magna site is almost a mile inside the boundaries of Poole Borough. So what do our councillors think?

In a reply to a recent letter from our Brian, Cllr Gregory said that "unfortunately that might not be within the Poole boundary" and mentioned the "poor road infrastructure". Apart from planning issues I think we must now question the teaching of Geography in the Borough's schools.

The Royal Mail do not know where Magna Road, Canford Magna, Poole is. It does not exist. There is however a Magna Road WIMBORNE. Cllr Daphne Long, Lib Dem Merley and Bearwood Ward told me in an email

"This (Canford Park Arena) is in Borough of Poole not Bournemouth and nor is it in Wimborne. However, it has a Wimborne Post Code, similarly does Merley & Canford Magna, but they are all part of our ward under BOP, so this is all very confusing for people to understand."

Well like Cllr Long, I am one of the great confused .

The post code must be for the Post Office and determines the routing of post rather than a site's location within 'political ward/town' boundaries John.
Unless anyone has a better explanation!!??

I think it might be better if we start refering to the location as Bearwood. It is not on the Arena land at all. Bearwood is partly in Bournemouth and Partly in Poole. We will be without doubt on the Poole side. I am not aware of Bearwood carrying a Wimborne postal address.

So fingers crossed for the new Bearwood, Poole proposal meeting with the approval of Poole Borough Council.

All those who are with me...............stop refering to Canford and the new name will stick!

Afterall it is the hearts and minds of the residents of Bearwood that we need to win, not those from Canford. If they are willing to accept us into their community, the least we could do is recognise that we WILL be part of their community:

re; postcodes Bearwood is BH11 & Canford arena (CRL) is BH21. Yes i'm clueless too

The postcode for Canford Magna Golf Club is BH21 3AS and the Arena is BH21 3AP.
We will have to wait and see what the Post office gives the new site as a postal address before we name it.
As the Arena is Brown Tourist signed off the A31 and from the Bearwood roundabout, I would hope everyone should be able to find the new site.

The Planning site at PBC now gives the postcode as BH11 9NB. Just off to put it in my sat nav!

HMMM! Sat nav will get you to within about 100metres with that postcode. However the Royal Mail classifies it as Bournemouth. Whilst CPA is Wimborne.

I am guessing that there will be a new postcode once building is complete.

I think the post code will be a BH21, because the entrance will be off Magna Road (BH21) and not through Bearwood (BH11).

Buses are not easy.
There are 2 Wilts and Dorset buses which travel along Magna Road each day on their way to Salisbury, X33 I think. There is a several Yellow bus routes through Bearwood, but all of these would leave you with a 5-10 min walk.

well thats one thing the forum and supportersclub could work on. a charter bus from Poole Bus Stn, with a couple of pick up points, charge a nominal fare and it will be filled...Last time i was over even the bus service Poole-WXXXXXXE was pretty sparse. Couple of red and white double deckers roaring up Ringwood Rd..
