I seem to recall a question a few weeks back from one resident about landscaping the new devlopment.
Also, I have been down to the wRECk and noticed the posters in the residents windows (at least those that overlook the proposed development) have trees, almost implying we are about to embark on a campaign of deforestation.
How about we start a campain of our own? When many grounds are built, the club asks fans to buy a brick. I have one at the Kassam for example. How about PTFC ask fans to buy a tree?
I found these saplings on the web for a few pounds each and less than £20 for four in some cases - Supporters could be asked to pledge £25 for example. If we got say 100 pledges of supporrt, we could announce that the development would be surrounded by at least 400 new trees/shrubs , sponsored by the supporters. Any money left in the kitty could be used for a plaque with the names of the supports who help fund this part of the landscaping.
Could be a positive way of showing that we care about the surroundings but as Brian has said I think it was included in the plans. Maybe publicity stating that we are willing would be OK at this stage.
Agreed with both postings above. The important thing is the publicity that the fans are going to provide 400 trees/shrubs if the plans are approved. Sure the club can still provide larger more mature trees if they so plan to, or the budget can be diverted to other areas of the ground.
Been watching these & other related threads with intrest. I think it`s amazing the enthusiasm the fans have about re-devoloping the wreck. Keep it up guys. A cautionary note tho.........the enemy may be watching too. GO DOLPHINS
