Knowing I host Photos I was sent this BRAG leaflet to post on the forum, apparently there has been a blanket leaflet drop in the entire Branksome area, along with the spreading word of misinformation about the proposals surrounding Branksome rec. The resident who sent this is concerned other residents are being supplied with incorrect information and may be led into reacting incorrectly over the planning application. If you really want to make a difference you need to make your comment now as the objections at the moment far outweigh the approvals. The club has been as open as possible and have invested much funds in the application, please make it all worth while. Please leave your comments here. wam.boroughofpoole.com/WAM/showCaseFile.do;jsessionid=1533395D3F5F5EA4BED17606B9C51A64?action=show&appType=Planning&appNumber=APP/09/00936/F

I think I mentioned it before - but if PTFC planning a leaflett drop to counter this latest on - as a resident who received this it would be good for you to have a chance of responding...

I posted my support for the town's plans (as did a number of my friends) when Chris R first raised this.
Good work m3 for bringing it to everyone's attention again. Good idea fallauk, thanks.
Notice that the BRAG leaflet includes every fallacious argument except the one they really believe!

I think I mentioned it before - but if PTFC planning a leaflet drop to counter this latest on - as a resident who received this it would be good for you to have a chance of responding... Hi Fallauk, Do you think this would antagonise some BRAG members and lead to confrontation, obviously something I would like to avoid personally. However with you being a local resident and being able to guage the feeling of other Branksome residents who are in favour of the BR proposal they should at least be offered the chance to air their views without intimidation. I am Branksome born, a stones throw from the rec, generations of my family hail from Branksome and Parkstone and I would love to see PTFC as part of the community, it's something I feel very passionate about. It's late notice as I understand the application closes on the 23rd? but I am willing to organise something immediately if I have some local help and backing. Many thanks. Again I appeal to everyone to get commenting Please encourage others to do so. Thanks.

I did e-mail a couple of weeks ago but can't seem to find my response per the link. I need to investigate! Hi Peterlep, there's always a chance a clerical error might have mislaid your email, perhaps comment again to be sure? All, Any family members who are familiar with the club's integrity could maybe comment as well? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For any concerned Branksome residents. On Tuesday before the poppies game I visited 200 households immediate to Tatnam, everyone I met on my travels were open and friendly about Poole Town Football Club being on their doorstep. One elderly chap who's property is situated directly behind one of the goals requested a contact number as he was concerned a light was left on over night. I apologised, to which he replied " It was of no bother I was just concerned of the club's energy bill <chuckle>" He further went on to say that in the time the club had been at Tatnam they have been good neighbors that have left him with no concerns at all and infact had had a positive effect in tackling anti social behaviour in the area around Tatnam fields. Comment here wam.boroughofpoole.com/WAM/showCaseFile.do;jsessionid=1533395D3F5F5EA4BED17606B9C51A64?action=show&appType=Planning&appNumber=APP/09/00936/F

Great work m3 and very sensitively put as well!. I was born and raised in Branksome too and feel the same as you.
The PTFC proposals will be very good for the Rec and for the Branksome area of course but are also for the benefit of the entire town so I hope that people both in Branksome and everywhere else in Poole are responding positively to the planning application.
Is it time for more letters to the Echo?

If the planning@poole.gov.uk web site is down just write a note supporting the PTFC scheme to the Poole Borough Planning officer at the address kindly provided by m3 from the BRAG leaflet at the start of this thread;-
Mr R Genge, Planning & Regeneration Services, Civic Centre, POOLE, BH15 2RU
Use a first class stamp please!

If it helps the main issue most people I have heard is parking - Thanks largely to the "traffic calming" measures down recreation road..

::)It appears you now have to register You have to leave a name and address, which I see you did. Thanks. Every supporter needs to do the same, so if you have not done it yet, click the link at the bottom of the first post, enter your name, address and message of support. It will take 30 seconds of your time and might just help us to secure that all important new home in which we can play Southern League football and who knows, perhaps even Conference one day.

Sorry to keep on but we need to keep up the pressure on this. BRAG are getting every man and their dog to sign the petition against BR so it's up to us to get as many as humanly possible, who know the integrity of the club, to comment in our favour. Let us not give up by thinking someone else is doing the job for us, it takes 5 to 10 mins max to comment and you could help make that difference.

First post on your Forum. Hello to all from here in Pickering Ontario. Emigrated in 1988 originally from Poole. Looks like the Soccer Club as fallen on bad times. Are you playing at Tatnam Playing Fields in Poole now then? You not playing in old Stadium anymore then?

Welcome ontarioexile. Your time in Canada looks to have done you no harm at all! If you go to the link provided by m3 dolphin above and look at the submission in support of PTFC's plans for a new ground from the Wessex League, you'll get a little potted history of the club which explains very succinctly why we play at Tatnam now. Also, why not e-mail your own comments in favour of the scheme? Every little helps!

Welcome Ontarioexile, the club's fall from grace was around the mid 90's and in that time they lost the use of the stadium as well as a dramatic fall down the leagues, due to on and off field matters. I understand PTFC then wandered around different homes in and around the area until they finally in recent years settled at Tatnam. Things are now very much on the 'UP' at the club and we are hopefully looking forward to Moving into Branksome Rec, hence the point of this thread, and with it a rise up the leagues again. I expect one of the long term supporters could explain a clearer picture of events.
