There seems a resonably even split for & against?
Did anyone read Mr & Mrs Drew's objection letter? Very offensive - saying we are hooligans who will smash up property after games when we lose! Don't they know we never lose? Joking aside - disappointing, if not surprising, to have such things thrown at us.

the deadline for posting has been extended until 9th October so we all have to keep spreading the word I'm afraid
suggestions that we are hooligans or that we are taking over the whole of the rec will only servto ridicule the objectors so postings like that are almost as good as postings of support!!!

I have forwarded my views to the e-mail address we were given. I am a Branksome resident and PTFC supporter and see the development as a massive boost to the area. I think it is a real shame that local residents are clearly not getting balanced information - lots of scare-mongering about! I know we are all a friendly bunch who just enjoy football and supporting our boys. The label of "hooligan" is quite ridiculous! Maybe Mike and Gareth will just have to not cheer so loudly each goal we get, in case we upset the neighbours - and Pete's trumpet will definitely have to be banned!!!

and so are you your plans will remove 2 pitches for public use so like you say the other 4 pitches which should actually and currently is 6 but PTFC will effectively be removing 2 football pitches from public use. you can call it 17% i call it two football pitches out of 7. answer me this then so your not going to call the rec the new home of poole town then?

llhoover,
I can only deal in fact and the facts as I have read them are as follows. The proposed new ground will take up approximately 17% of the total area of the rec.
1. There will be five marked out and maintained pitches. 2. 1 marked out cricket pitch. 3. Three new multi use games areas. 4. Better maintenance of the whole site. 5. Better lighting to the field. 6. To put a stop to anti-social behaviour and better security to the site. 7. An intention to improve the site and make it better for everyone, from sports fanatics to children and dog users. 8. Modernise the existing pavilion to accommodate all necessary sports and include disabled facilities.

M3. I think we are best to ignore this person, as they have been presented with our case before and choose to ignore it. Can't understand why they have put a friendly thread on for Fantasy League, then make comments like that I will await the usual reply from this person....

Quite agree Sterte, why waste peoples time and effort by keeping on asking about the plans/proposals? You do know what they are as you have left negative comments about them!!!! Incidently just curious but why don't Parkstone heights fc play at Parkstone Heights? Also on a more serious note I have consulted three people who have supposedly left remarks on the council webpage and they know nothing about making the comments!! Do you know anything llhoover?!!!!!

only way to counteract those 3 comments is to persuade 'our' supporters yet again to air their views and make the plunge and publish their comments...

I'm quite happy to keep airing the facts so any BR residents, who might be reading this, are aware of what really is proposed.

I think in the best interests of the club, the residents and everyone else we try not to cloud this thread with any personal arguments.
Hoover,
I speak only as a supporter and can understand that there will be concerns and questions. I read the "approx 17%" quoted elsewhere, quite where I'm not too sure now, but it was also mentioned at the meetings. Also if you look at the plan of the proposal the area is divided by 5 pitches plus other spaces, it certainly looks to me that the pitch to be walled in is within a 20% divide of the total area.

More comments in support of the proposal are still needed, this is vital if Poole Town FC are to move forward. Many Thanks.

I'm cheesed off with negatives being put on the comments so I have outlined a few positives. Hope that helps?!
I have been thinking and also discussing with some 'REC' doubters, how about a promotional ticket day for Branksome rec residents only to come and see the town at play for free and meet us all? entrance by Council tax demand?!!
That way it is a positive step to show the doubters that we are NOT hooligans but a friendly, family orientated sports venue.

What a great idea Steve!! It could be part of another leaflet drop in the Branksome area around the Rec. which could, at the same time, counter all the negatives and stress all the positives (including the fact that the ground will only take up 17% of Bransksome Rec - you're right m3, I read that somewhere too, maybe in one of CR's statements!) Of course, it's easy for 'exiles' like myself to urge you lot on when I don't have to help - I just wish I could!!

Still more comments needed, are we still trailing or drawing level?

At the recent U18 cup tie I asked a few supporters if they had sent emails of support and everyone said, words to the effect, I must get around to that!!!!!! We haven't got much time to post our support so I want every new posting to be a friend or the friend of a friend of a supporter - or a neighbour or a relative - if they think the scheme is good for the whole Borough then please post now. We deserve to be punished if we show apathy , its not always 'someone else' who will post ,it must be you. One of the best ways to boost our numbers is to explain the scheme and get some support and then ask if we can email on their behalf - but make sure you have their permission and an appropriate quote from them. I think this approach would be permissible and within the spirit of the consultation process.

I see most of the objections are based on the leaflett points that BRAG dropped a few weeks back. As for the floodlights - I can only point to the recent Singapore GP where the track was lightup but the sorounding roads etc were in pitch black. As for the road caos - I drove past on Sat am when the child teams were training and the car-park and sorrounding roads were chocca then....

It is clear how lazy some of the objectors are. Take the comment made by Rachel Cornish on 29th Sept. Clear cut and past of an email from Bob Baker, as she did not even remove his comments. Exact same words appear numerous times.
HOWEVER their comments are being registered and we are running out of days to have our voice heard. If you, your family, friends and neighbours have not yet voiced your support for the proposal, then please do BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE and we lose the opportunity of Southern League football to the NIMBYs...............purley because the COULD be bothered and didn't leave it to others!
