If you don't do Twitter, you may not have voted for PTFC's commercial manager Samantha yet. All you have to do is text " MISS DORSET09" to 63333Voting doesn't close until March 12th and you'll even a reply saying "thank you" Good luck Samantha

As much as I appreciate what Sam does for the club, I'm not sure it's entirely appropriate that someone uses the club's social media outlets for self gain publicity. By all means do it via your own personal social media, but not the club's.

BD - I appreciate your concern but.....to put this in proper context, the only reason Sam has entered is to gain further publicity for the Club.
To put the record straight the Club has no problem with its social media and website being used to promote Sam in this competition given as I say that her sole aim is to promote the Club.

Rather tenuous link to the club don't you think Chris?

It's my fault BD not Sam's! Sam hasn't used the forum, I did! And I agree with Chris, if our Commercial manager wins Miss Dorset it can only be positive publicity for the club, can't it?

You can vote early & vote often if you like. Although at 50p a time could be quite expensive. Proceeds go to the Fairtrade Foundation. Just had a look on the Miss Dorset 2017 & currently Sam is in 3rd place with 127 votes to the current leaders 178. What I can't tell is if this is the only vote or it will be added to what a panel of experts think at a later date. Either way good luck Sam.

I dunno, we're all a nice little community at Poole Town, I like to think we all look out for each other, and help each other out in various ways, football related or not. I'll definitely be voting. Good luck Sam.

Sam will start a new Commercial profile on Twitter I will remove some of her posts from the timeline.
But as others have said, it is publicity for the club, so some will remain and others will be retweeted in the future.

Question. If you are deleting some of the posts then surely you are of the opinion that it's not appropriate? If that's the case then why leave the others that are the same as the ones you have deleted? You either remove all of them or leave all of them up. It makes no sense doing what you have done

Acceoted there were too many posts. Any publicity for the club is beneficial. You were against it, others for it. Deleting some posts was a compromise.

As you know, I was against the Official Poole Town Twitter and Facebook accounts being used to promote something that appeared to have little link to Poole Town. It's now become a little clearer and I agree this is a compromise. The final solution which is being put in place, is for Sam to have her own Commercial account where she can continue her excellent work for Poole Town. It's also important to me that anything promoting Poole Town is clear in its objectives and motives - which I think were a little lacking in this case.

I really don't think some people have any idea what Samantha has been doing for the club. She has worked every hour she can calling people and asking favours to get our up grade done as cheap as possible. We are not like Bournemouth where everybody knows us. We need all the publicity we can get. Have you seen how many hits she has had on her video promoting our club and woofabilty. It's over 1000. If just a small percentage of those people want to find out more about us. I for one think that's a positive outcome. Shame more people are not doing the same.

Elliot, no one, no one is questioning what Sam is doing or what she has done for the club. And to imply that people have when all that has been done (in this case), is question the use of the club's social media outlets for purposes other than promoting the club, is a touch insulting. If you read what I put in my original post, I actually stated my appreciation for Sam's work. I felt that the posts regarding her entrance to, and attempts to win the Miss Dorset competition was a misuse of the club's social media. An opinion I feel very strongly about. Also I am insulted by your sly jibe at the end of your post. People do what they can, when they can, if they can, and when they can afford to for the club. Do not come on here and insult fans because they do not live to your standards.

Hi everyone
Firstly I'd just like to say I'm sorry if I have offended anyone which I can see I have. I am doing this competition to raise awareness for the club. I understand the frustration but it is related to the club and I am the commercial manager and I am publicising that. I have to use my network for this competition, if you see Michael Matthews has promoted one of their colleagues because she is doing it for them. I would much rather prefer however to have had a phone call or text from said people who weren't happy with the situation and spoken to me I'm upset to see that this has become such a big issue.
Best wishes
Your Commercial Manager

With regards to me getting a new account I will in time but for this competition it finishes March 12th at the final and I discussed with Chris and it will take me months to develop a large following we have. I have said my peace and hope you all understand and this stops no please as I don't want anyone to be upset or any hostility.

I can't see that anyone thinks this is a big issue Sam - merely an observation from Tony and I that we didn't consider it appropriate use of the Poole Town Accounts. I know you haven't upset me in any way and I think I can say the same for Tony. We fully appreciate what you are doing for the club in your role - and the fact that you can do it on a full time basis is fantastic for the club. As we have both said - we were unclear as to how you being involved in a beauty pageant was specifically linked to Poole Town - it's a little more clear now.

More than 2 people were objective to this. I was as well.
1) Clearly used links to self promote 2) Beauty Pageants are so outdated. All the hard work the club has done for women's football and then its linked to an out-dated event like this.
I wonder how the club would react if I or someone else ordered a roly poly kiss-a-gram/stripper for someone's Birthday in the social bar next Saturday.

Need to end this now. People have expressed their views on both sides, and although both sides have very different views, the one thing that is clear is that both want what is best for the club going forward. Let's leave this one where it is now

I feel your comments are extremely innapropriate, not to mention insulting.... Miss Dorset is no beauty pageant it's all about what you do for the community etc you should look this up before saying such statements. Secondly your comment about having a stripper at the club etc. How is this linked? It's not. I will continue to help the club as I have for over 9 years now and believe it or not I use to play for the ladies, trained with Southampton Ladies and played for England U18 school girls against Australia. Again voice your issues to me I'm no monster I understand your concern for the club but this can only bring great things, you'll see. Best wishes Samantha

Samantha I apologise if my comments have upset you however my comments about "Miss Dorset" are from looking at these sites missdorset.co.uk/who would qualify to participate in this www.missengland.info/and the winner of this would qualify for this www.missworld.com/competition/what-is-miss-world/Taken from the Miss World site "To win Miss World you must score the highest points, awarded for a range of activities and events which take place from the moment the contestants arrive at the competition. FIVE challenge events take place in the run up to the final; Beauty with a Purpose, Multimedia,Sports, Talent, and Top Model. These offer the chance for the contestants to shine, giving them the opportunity to win important points." To me this is a Beauty Pageant and any such events are certainly not promoting women lib. This is no dig at the job you do at Poole Town Football Club and please do not feel it as such. As a supporter of Fan owned clubs I know how important and vital a "Full time Commercial Manager" role brings to clubs in the lower leagues of football. With the right approach, know how, and talent a full time commercial manager can bring in excess of 100k per annum which in turn can pay for 3-4 players for the season. From what I see you are certainly achieving this and long may that continue. My issue is though that the club should not be associated with Miss Dorset as its outdated and does not reflect well on PTFC overall. And regarding the first point "1) Clearly using links to self promote" If you are promoting Poole Town FC why was this not offered to other Poole Town women such as fans, those that play in the women teams, and other staff volunteer or not" I will ask if you are doing it for Poole Town FC anything you win will it be auctioned off or donated to Poole Town FC then?
