The observant amongst you will have noticed that work to upgrade Tatnam has started. This is an effort to gain ground grading by the 31st of March, to allow promotion if we win the league. We have kept this quiet until now as negotiations with the school, council and FA have been ongoing. It is still not certain that our plans will satisfy the FA, but we have the full backing of the school and the council and we will give it our best shot. We plan to have three sides complete before the semi final. Rod Taylor,Dick, Mike and Chris Kelly are at the ground assisting the contractors. If you can spare any time to help please go down and offer your services. Only go if you are prepared to help, as time is critical. You the fans wanted Southern League. Here is your opportunity to show how much it means to you.

Excellent news CD. I feel this, along with the professional handling of a 2,000 crowd for the semi should indicate to the FA that Tatnam is a place that can handle Southern League football, be it short or long term.
If anyone reserves judgement on getting involved and helping out, understandable, I can vouch that in the couple of years I was involved at the club, voluntarily and as a stranger at first, you won't find a more amiable and freindly club/place to be involved.
A great and enthusiastic bunch!

Oh CD my cup runneth over. While we all want a nice shiny new stadium, Southern League football at Tatnum would be wonderful. Can you give us some idea of what is needed? - General Labourers?
- Brickies?
- Plumbers?
- Electricians?
- Carpenters?
- PA Designers and Installers (that would be me)?
Also what time each day and what days?

Great news!!
Due to my current health problems I don't think I will be of any practical help at the moment. But I do hope there will be many who can help right now. Lets hope that these efforts will satisfy the FA in our push for promotion. Many congratulations, to the BOD for their success in securing this amazing development. Presumably, this will give the club time to satisfy the many spurious planning details in securing the move to Bearwood.
WELL DONE!

The school have ultimately been superb but without ANY criticism intended in any way whatsoever we have only been given the green light to do 4/5 months of work(paperwork, quote obtaining,ordering/lead-in time, build time,FA liaison)in about three weeks given 31st March deadline-plus the biggest game in years to plan for!!!!!!!! We can't be 100% sure FA will go for it but if we don't drop everything and perform we have no chance so just watch us change the shape of Tatnam and hope!!We have the contractors lined up and all the materials ordered-even two splendidly refurbished turnstiles -£2000!!We had an FA inspection today and without any guarantees-so far so good. One of our ex players from the late60s-Rod Taylor has devoted himself to the cause and without his help it wouldn't have a chance-thanks Rod so much. We are doing our best!!

Also what time each day and what days? At the moment we do not need brickies (although Charlie would be welcome), plumbers, Electricians or PA Designers. we do need general labourers. Main task is getting the fence up, fetching carrying. A second contractor starts tomorrow and will be digging holes for the 4th side, setting sockets into the ground to receive posts later and then capping and covering to make safe for the semi. work starts around 8am and is finished by 4pm. Any time within that is appreciated. Dubcheks offer noted particularly. SL here we come!

As this post is stimulating positive vibes, I want to share a little about my day: After the FA inspection today, I headed straight to a Football League match, where i was invited in the boardroom in an offical capacity as Director of PTFC. Wonderful facilities, 6K+ crowd and a great evening, but in truth, even though i have supported that club for 30 years.....I prefer my time spent at Tatnam and with Poole Town. What made the night even more special (as the result was not!) was the conversations I had with the Chairman, Directors and Sponsors. The Head of Football Sports Marketing for Nike knew that Tom Killick was our Manager, Jim Rosenthal was aware that we were having a great season, Malcolm Crosby knew we were in the Vase Semi, the Chairman and Directors knew that we had sold Charlie to Swindon and that we are seeking a new ground. Word is spreading about little Poole Town the sleeping giant.

Not sure if we are working weekends yet. Will check tomorrow. With the progress made today, we might not need to. There will however be other odd jobs that are required to meet other FA demands. More on those as they come to light.
I believe the Ressies are at home tonight v Brock Res. If you have not been able to help out during the day, come and admire the new cunning plan and watch the exciting youngsters.
Semi Final tickets on sale at the Match.

WONDERFUL NEWS! Thank you very much to the person who rang me. This almost makes up for the delays in the council's decision making process for the Bearwood project.
I have learned to be a pessimist and I cannot help noting what the CD said;- "It is still not certain that our plan will satisfy the FA ..." and what Chris R said;- "We can't be 100% sure that the FA will go for it ..."
BUT, we have to say a very, very big THANK YOU to the CD, Chris R, the BOD and everyone involved in this for their achievement in getting us this opportunity and acknowledge that there is a need for confidentiality at critical times and that there has been, and still is, an ENORMOUS amount of effort, time and hard work being put into the club for its future. On behalf of the exiles I can but quote Milton again;- "They also serve who only stand and wait."

I was at tatnam at 0800 this morning and did not see any helpers, perhaps they arrived after I left? I can report that the Pavilion End is almost complete and will be by the end of the day. Come to the reserves game tonight and see for yourself, plus you can buy your SF tickets. This was what it looked like this morning: COYD, lets get promotion!

Word is spreading about little Poole Town the sleeping giant. Amazing CD. Most of us have split allegiance, understandably, if your interested in Football and you haven't lived in Poole all your life. The one thing that amazed me was how Poole Town got under my skin and into my heart, so quickly. I think it's the closeness and the genuinely friendly atmosphere generated at the club. Have you ever considered the spectrum of age groups and gender that are involved at Tatnam? In the past football was a male dominated area and at the time very nearly a no go area for our female friends, but time as corrected that error and history will tell of a massive improvement in the whole environment as a result. A truly family game now at grass roots at least, much the better for it. Poole Town is a very good example of how things should be done. A lot of people deserve to be congratulated for bringing that to the club, I think they know who they are. So well done!! COYD. Looks like we are all pulling in the right direction, just in time for one of the most important times in our recent history.

Been down to the ground today, just got back...........WOW the New Tatnam is emerging! Managed to assist in a very small way, ably assisting Fran for a while. The turnstiles (yes two) looked very impressive, I was there whilst one was being put in place in it's new home. You will be amazed at what has been achieved already, hope to be able to help again on Friday. All being well! Can't do much, but I can make tea ;D

This is great news - well done to all those involved in this. I love it at Tatnam - it feels like the home of Poole - so fingers crossed that all the hard work brings more football to Tanam. Well done to the school and council for their support.
