So why force the club to pay out all of those up front costs.... Hopefully the council will help contrubute to the new scheme..

Lets hope the politicians will live up to their words for once.......... I hope that the Council will "support" us financially with this bid.

So why force the club to pay out all of those up front costs.... Hopefully the council will help contrubute to the new scheme.. I did hear a little whisper (and that's all it was) that Mr Eades was in favour of us not suffering financially because of BR. His beliefs are, through talking to him, that the club deserves as much support as possible, but, in his opinion BR wasn't the right venue. Mark and I did try to reason with him. Moving on a lot of people at the planning meeting did offer their support to the club, even though they were against BR. I really hope those weren't empty words and we do indeed find them fighting our corner. Please!!

I would imagine one particular lady councillor who will still object regardless and no doubt she will have 3,000 reasons why!
Hopefully Mr Eades will now give us his full support, as he has suggested. I had previously heard that he does follow our progress and was keen to support us but felt he would not be welcome at games. If he helps us get the Arena, then I for one would forgive what has already gone.

I don't believe a word they say. Just taking the heat of the situation, next week they will have forgotten all their promises. He was just trying to preserve votes now he's satisfied his ward. He's looking at the bigger picture. Don't be taken in by their spin.

The key for PTFC and its supporters is to keep up the momentum and the pressure to hold these people to their word. Don't let the story go cold, keep it alive in the local media as much as possible and most importantly, blow the trumpet for the club, the sport and all the good football clubs do for their communities.
Good luck to you guys - the town and the club deserves more than it has been given.. and if there is anything I or my little AFCB site can do to help promote PTFC and its cause then let me know..

He's looking at the bigger picture. Don't be taken in by their spin. Then what every body needs to do is keep the pressure on, just like Stu has said. The truth is It's going to take a lot more than us typing words or moaning to each other (generally speaking) We all need to keep the pressure on and need to find unique ways to do this!! Action is what is needed by each and everyone of us to help set up and safe guard Poole Town Football Club's future. Thanks for your words Stu, do you have a link to your site?

There's a link in my signature m3dolphin - it's www.courtoffside.com. We're not the biggest AFCB site but it's a nice friendly bunch of people on there...

There is only one way to keep these people on board and committed and that's form a committee and include them on it.
They will contribute very little to the project, but it removes that "interference factor" allowing the club to progress.
Councillors given a little information don't spend their time trying to make it up as they go along. As we heard on Wednesday often grossly exaggerated.

slepe, I like your thinking but as you know, while we might be the best supported club in the WP, we are few in number when it comes to following ideas up and implementing them. Are you angry enough, or are there any others angry enough come to that, to follow these things up?
I can say this as I am a supporter, but when it comes down to making things happen there are only a few who are willing to tackle the massive work load to try to push this club forward.
If we all want a new ground and a guarenteed future for Poole Town FC its going to need all hands to the pump as those that have worked very very hard on the Branksome Rec proposal have got to find the energy to "Go Again".
Who's willing to help??

Thanks Stu, Thanks also to all those AFCB supporters who got behind us with letters, emails and even came to some of the meetings. It was much appreciated

Brian, the old British Bulldog spirit prevails as we move on to the next challenge. Challenges keep the blood pumping around the veins and makes one feel alive. It's a shame Jerusalem wasn't the National Anthem - perhaps we can make it Poole's anthem. Glad the weather held out for you on your trip down, matey

"To be a Pilgrim" would be apt for us as well. :-)

A good hymn Fran, but I feel nothing lifts the soul like Blake's Jerusalem. Awesome inspiration and mirrors the determination of what's happening down at Tatnam.

Should be the English National Anthem. Couldn't agree more with fitting into what the Club is about.
