I am sure losing on penalties will feel raw for all the players right now.
But reflecting back there are many positives to take from this season, even if ultimately we failed in our aim of promotion to the National League South
After some early disappointing results I had not expected us to reach the play offs. But an excellent run of form saw us finish fourth. It looks like we matched Truro all the way in the play off semi final. As we all know penalties are a lottery.
This league is so hard to get out of with only 1 automatic promotion spot. I am sure next season will be no easier with newcomers Weymouth (probably) and Totton providing fresh challenges in addition to others who have had disappointing seasons this year likely to come back stronger (Gosport, Salisbury).
So lets all get behind the team and look forward to next season when once again we push for promotion.

The National League want to move to 3up/3down between them and Football League 3. Until the National League find away of allowing the same between leagues in Step 2 & 3, I say no. Doesn't have to be guaranteed. Maybe relegation/promotion playoffs, as now happens between Steps 4 & 5.
