Six games in and if the wheels have not quite come off, we have a puncture at least.
Last season, Bracknell were the highest scorers by a mile but were a little porous at the back. Weston scored only 3 more goals than us but crucially conceded a paltry 32 goals and crucially kept clean sheets in close to half their games.
So far we have conceded 10 goals in 6 games, if that were to be carried through the season we would concede 70 goals, last season we conceded 51, a few fewer than Bracknell.
Why do people think we are conceding so many and is it the system or the personnel?

It's a fair question and a shame that people don't feel able to reply. We certainly miss Wes in midfield and probably haven't been able to replace Steve Devlin. However the defensive problems have been apparent for well over a season and the manager has literally refused to do anything about it.

I can only go by my own limited knowledge (away to Harrow) and there was a distinct lack of pace at the back. The first Harrow goal was just a ball over the top from a high line while Town were attacking.

Here we go again early in the season and our hopes of promotion are already fading. Merthyr look the team to beat and our incredible result at Swindon has now been put in perspective. It’s clear to all Supporters that we lack pace through the middle of the defence, and we can’t keep making up results by out scoring opponents. We have to structure the defence to stop teams scoring easily. Come on BOD and Tommy let’s act before it really is to late.

There seems to be problems within the Club. See the Echo report today 'Killick - Shambles against Dorchester' and the Club Website reporting that Micky Hubbard has tendered his resignation as assistant manager.
Lets hope that Saturdays FA Cup game is an improvement and get a win.

Is the good ship Dolphin springing leaks? Is Mickey Hubbards departure a symptom of what is wrong? Having only watched one PTFC match in a year I can only agree with many of the above points I did see the game against WSM at about this time last year and we were badly outplayed. WSM had recruited well and were ready to make a quick start. A simple question is why, every season, do teams come roaring out of the gate and we don.t Answer? Preparation! The questions have to be raised with the Board and Manager. Why in two off seasons did we not significantly strengthen our defence? Some of those legs at the back are getting tired,no disrespect intended but its called ageing! Pretty obvious that we are not going to get the automatic promotion spot and even the rose coloured glasses people are aiming for the play offs We get a good crowd and can't deliver the goods at home!
Poole Town Fans deserve better!!
