Thank you very much dave2. Those pictures bring back a lot of memories for me as well. In those days there was no National League and no National North and South so that the Western League was just one 'tier' below the Southern League and equivalent to today's National League South! I recall, particularly, Stan Rickaby and Horace Cumner - great players in their day - and I was present when Wilf Mannion made his debut for "The Town" at The Stadium! Happy Days!

Can this be moved to the correct page which is dedicated totally to the club's history You can reminisce to your heart's content there and leave this page to current matters.

Can this be moved to the correct page which is dedicated totally to the club's history You can reminisce to your heart's content there and leave this page to current matters. Those who forget the lessons of the past......,,, will end up making excuses for the Tatnam fiasco! Of course this is very relevant to our present situation and very current when our great club is forced to play on a quagmire and in the process yet again probably losing chances of advancement. It shows how far we have fallen and some enablers continue to make excuses!. Is there something about showing the proud past of PTFC that offends? Are we forgetting that in recent memory we had to give up promotion for two seasons consecutively? Are we forgetting that in our recent slide out of the NLS we had such a huge backlog of fixtures that we could not win our relegation battle? Why would our past be compartmentalised against our present and future. Yes we want the current generation of PTFC fans to share our past and equally we want to share in their efforts to lift us up where we belong! That is what supporters regardless of their generation do!

Yes, it's good to see some of the Club's history being shown well done (dave2). It brings back memories of those times in particular matches against Weymouth with no segregation in the crowd but some good old fashioned good humoured banter between both sets of fans, no filth being chanted from a section of the crowd. I do detect a certain anti history embedded in the club one can see that just looking at the club programme where a page and a half is given to the last the last twenty three years (modern history) and six lines for the previous 120 years golden eras and club all time records obliterated. I know of no other Club that takes this position, a club's past achievement serves as a base and shows its tradition saying what the Club is all about.
