Dorchester will soon have to rename themselves "Poole In Exile". I'm very pleased that Luke has recovered enough from his ACL to consider semi professional football once more. He was always a joy to watch for Poole, a very talented player.

Great player, perhaps should have gone on to play at a much higher level. So unlucky with the injury he got. Good luck Luke.

I only saw Luke play once or twice but it was enough to agree with BD, "great player". I am on record as saying that had Luke not suffered serious injury at the time that he did then Poole Town would still be in the NLS. Good luck Luke with your football and your future career.

May be money? But that is only guessing.
But I agree very frustrating. Seems like Dorchester will have half the old Poole team soon.

May be money? But that is only guessing. But I agree very frustrating. Seems like Dorchester will have half the old Poole team soon. Marcus has mentioned elsewhere that he's going there to get games under his belt, and looking for a more permanent gig somewhere further up the pyramid as soon as he can. Luke hasn't played at all for 5 seasons, so as much as we'd all love him to be the player he was back then (even at Dorch) it's a heck of a risk. Also, at this level and (even more especially) the levels below players like to play for certain managers and managers like certain players. You see it with us as well, since Tubbs has joined he's signed Lowes, Monk, Slade and now Tshaka who all played for him at Bashley. Luke and Marcus probably both like Tommy, Tommy likes them and they might feel like they both owe him a lot for different reasons. The real danger lies in a mass exodus of players going to play for TK at the end of this season when contracts expire, it would be naïve to think that a lot of this squad wouldn't want to play for Tommy again and he would feel the same about signing them. Then we're left with a squad full of players Tubbs had at Bashley which would not end well!

Totally agree WelshDolphin. Easy to say why didn’t we sign them but maybe we tried but they just both decided to choose Dorch and particularly Tommy over us? As you say Luke is a gamble, one I particularly hope works btw, but a gamble all the same and Marcus has made it clear he was looking for game time only. Even Tommy said it was likely to be a short term deal as he fully expects Marcus to move on fairly quickly. While I understand your concerns over players following Tommy when their contract ends, hopefully Matt has done enough to convince them otherwise particularly as I’m hearing positive vibes about his leadership and professionalism.
