🚨 NEWS 🚨
Today Matt Tubbs tendered his resignation to the Board which was accepted.
We have made swift and positive progress in putting together a replacement management set up to steer the team through to a point where a new manager is appointed.
There will be a more detailed statement posted tomorrow (Tues 5 March)

In the interest of the club this is best news I've heard for some time.

In the interest of the club this is best news I've heard for some time. Agreed, he looked increasingly lost on the touchline sadly, and there was nothing coming from the dugout tactically or motivationally during games. It needed someone to take action sooner rather than later and credit to Tubbs for falling on his own sword rather than waiting to be pushed.

Oh great! Someone who has been in the dugout during this terrible run but has even less managerial experience than Tubbs!
I could understand if this was a couple of weeks to look for a new manager but why until the end of the season!?

It's just about getting the 12 points we need to stay in the league.

I could understand if this was a couple of weeks to look for a new manager but why until the end of the season!? It's not a good time to look for a manager so I think there's an element of 'make do' and just stay in this League as BD suggests. Also any manager/coach that's currently part of a promotion or title chasing setup (I'm looking at Wimborne as prime example of local club doing well below us) isn't likely to want to leave that club with less than 2 months of the season left and risk by-passing us on the way up. Similarly, we don't want to be looking at taking a manager from a club that's not performing as the chances are they aren't up to much! Come the summer there will be the chance to assess where we are, where other clubs are and if we can attract anyone that is worth having.

Totally agree WelshDolphin. Cleary there is a risk of relegation - but so be it. We clearly need a big rebuild for next season what ever.

Went from a stable club with a manager always pushing for promotion for many years to just another club going through managers year after year, get the directors that wanted killick gone to get on their hands and knees and beg for him to come back.

Appreciate you using Wimborne as an example, but not a chance of prising that manager away. Lovely ground, great club house, regular attendance of 800+. And remember those moaning about Tubbs coming from a lower division team? Even though he worked wonders at Bashley . Would the same moaners say no to any manager from a lower tier team? personally think Tubbs let down by mass exodus of players….who would have thought semi professionals would do that…had the squad stayed together we could easily be challenging, with Tubbs at the helm.

Oh, I was definitely only using Wimborne as an example, I know there isn't a hope in hells chance Sills and his team come here with our setup as is compared to theirs. 😁 One thing about Tubbs you've got wrong, he didn't work wonders at Bash. He took over in November 2022 when they were 8th, finished that season 7th. Then he left at the end of August 2023 and they were 9th. He made next to no difference to them at all. Having watched him up close, he was great when we were winning but as soon as we were up against it he was like a rabbit in the headlights and looked lost. Not sure we'd have ever been serious challengers with him in charge.
