Not many of you today would've realised that it was our long suffering secretary Bill Reids final home game before finally retiring. Bill joined us in the mid 90s when we literally had no players & no ground. I,in my position of matchday announcer had the immense privilege of "working" alongside Bill & his long suffering wife Daphne. Winning the SPL & reaching the NLS was a highlight of course, but its the daft things I remember like sharing Dick Thomas's physio portacabin at Holt...escorting Peter Moore off various pitches. I'll miss him on matchdays,Tatnam won't be the same!! Thanks Bill

Yes a real Poole Town gentleman and his service deserves recognition by the club not to mention the programme he produced which won awards. The quality of the content was second to none in my opinion. The best programme that the club have ever produced in my seventy years of following the club.

Thanks Bill. Not many people appreciate how hard the job of Secretary is. How you have done it before is beyond me. Enjoy your retirement and hopefully you can enjoy the football more now.

Thank you Bill and Daphne for your unwavering loyalty and efficiency over many years. I well remember appointing Bill in the early 90’s when he was Secretary for Braishfield in the Hampshire League. He went on to become a reliable and efficient officer of Poole Town FC and I thank him and Daphne for lightening the load over many years of ups and downs.

Wish Mr Reid all the best. Away trips, won't seem the same, without Bill & Daphne sitting on the two seats at the front on the left. Wonder who will be sitting there next season. Whoever it is will no doubt be just as challenging. Thought the introduction of technology was supposed to make things easier. Just seems to have made getting things done more urgent & more difficult.
