I think that you have to think about what you have not what/who you have lost?
We already have a full team of 11 players signed at the beginning of June. I cannot remember having that many confirmed players so early in the close season. Of course the loss of Dec is a big deal but if a player is determined to go, and he is still young and ambitious, so be it. He is welcome back anytime.
So keep the faith, ST got us out of trouble and has that experience plus a whole pre-season to get a team together that can challenge.

Oakley Hanger from the New Cuthbury has signed for the Town Come on you New Era Dolphins! How surprising Expat considering you have banged on about all things Wimborne have that we should be aspiring too, how one of their star players has chosen to come to us!!!

my.my Colonel. a little antagonistic towards a fellow supporter and in the offseason too!! I do not resort to ad hominem attacks so why dont you recognise a fellow supporters opinions?
FYI i have not "Banged on" about Wimborne. They obviously did a lot of things right culminating with some astounding attendance figures towards seasons end. They were successful when we were struggling.to the point of fighting for our SLP status Is there anything wrong with recognising another Dorset team team on the up and up? and of course they got promoted.didnt they! worth commenting on. is.that Many of my views seem to be similar to those of our Chairman in his interview of a couple of months ago. rerun it! Looking forward to a great season for PTFC and i have been doing that since circa 1954
I also welcome quality signings wherever they come from! As all PTFC fans do

Could still do with a new left back and centre half cover though, plus a keeper.

They are in talks with several keepers and will make a decision when they’ve narrowed it down to the exact keeper they want. Such a key position so need to get it right.

One goalkeeper of course is a must. But we really need two top keepers & switch them every so often. Most top clubs do these days. Not because they are playing badly but being possibly the most pressured position, they need resting more often than outfield players. Especially with all the midweek football we play.

It is only 10 days to the friendly against Dorking. It will be interesting to see which players they field and whether they will be the final choices for when the competitive league matches start.
Not enjoying the Euros on telly much, it will be good to see some live football.

Imagine there may be one or two trialists on show pre-season to give Tully a chance to have a good look at them. As long as we are ready for the start of the season then that’s all that matters. Going to be a completely new look team this term so will be interesting for sure.

I see that Dec Rose and Harry Hutchinson have signed for Totton and Dorch in the last 48 hours, two direct rivals (hopefully) for promotion next season. Meanwhile we are still 2 or 3 defenders short (I won't even mention the goalkeepers again!)
I really hope those in charge haven't got this horribly wrong.....

I think Mr Tully has a proven track record and knows where he needs strengthening and clearly understands the need for a strong GK or two guys, I’m not being sarcastic but we have to trust him, albeit the silence recently regarding new players undoubtedly is a cause of concern

Based on what we saw at the back end of the season I am much more willing to give Tully a chance. I do wish he'd sign a goalie though!

So what are peoples honest opinions of the new signings and the squad put together so far?
For me, Jake McCarthy is a class signing and a real coup at this level. He will be tremendous for Poole
The lad from Burton I know a little about, but has mainly been playing out on loan at teams around the same level.
Davis, Diaz, Hangar and Hoey have never really pulled up any trees at this level and were part of a very poor Dorchester squad that nearly got relegated. In my opinion they are not better than some of the players that have left, Dec Rose, Harvey Wright, Wes Fogden and Cam Murray.
I’ll still support the boys and the gaffer and hope to be proved wrong, but I’m not convinced this is the team that will be in the football league in 4 years time according to Mr Rossiter.

Yes the following have all recently joined Dorchester (following our ex Manager) Wes Fogden, Kyran Samadi, Harry Hutchinson. They now nearly have a full ex Poole side!
