Poole Town Ladies have just been promoted to the South West regional league which involves more travelling this season. They are trying to raise some money to help towards extra travel. They have set themselves the challenge of running, cycling, walking & swimming the grand total of 1666 miles, which is the distance to and from all their away games this year. Any donations would be hugely appreciated towards this huge pre season challenge! See here for more details: www.gofundme.com/f/poole-town-ladies-fc-1666-miles-challenge

The last post on the PTFC Ladies thread was April 18th 2018! If you promise to keep us 'exiles' updated this season, I promise to give a donation to the "1666 Appeal".

I would normally be happy to, but the problem is that I know very little about them, other than what is on the internet which is very out of date.
It is a shame we don’t hear more about them, as I know they won promotion last season, so must be a good team. Doing that as amateurs, with a budget that I guess must be very small compared to the men's team and doing fund raising as they are doing, makes it all the more impressive.
FWIW, I actually stumbled across their 1666 mile appeal while on Go Fund Me while looking for another funding appeal.
I know dolphin fans are generous when they can be, so just thought I would give it a mention over here to help them hit their funding target.

Yes, sorry Astro. I hadn't thought about who might be responsible for posting news and results for the ladies team (or the many other teams come to that). Maybe Chris or Pippa or someone could nudge the organisers of the other teams to keep us a little more up to date. Meanwhile, thanks for drawing our attention to the "1666 Appeal", I will make a donation.

Thanks.
A few more updates on the women’s team would be welcome. It seems they had their own website at one point, powered by pitchero, but that seems to have fallen by the wayside, I expect due to the hosting costs, which look comparatively expensive for a website. Maybe Chris or Pippa could arrange for them to have their own little section on the main club website, if they wanted?
