I just wanted people to be aware that after 13 years I will no longer be reporting on the home matches for the website (which also goes in to the match programmes).
I am sure some people will say about time we got someone who knew what they were talking about! Those who read the reports will know that as well as reporting on the match I have always finished off with a paragraph with my own thoughts - praising the team when they played well and criticising them (but not individual players) when they played badly.
For years that was always fine and never an issue. Sadly that is no longer the case. My report for the recent Gosport game was withdrawn as "a number of players have voiced their displeasure over the negativity of the report."
I know some people disagree with my style and say stick to the facts and do not voice an opinion. However I also know other fans have thanked me for my honesty and valued this input. I did not feel comfortable changing my style as I felt it would water down the reality on occasions. So the Board have decided this task is to be taken over by Connor Hannon (who already covers the away games and created the excellent new website). The rationale being "we do need to protect the content put out on our own website."
I am not commenting on this and will leave others to form their views - just feel it is good communication for fans to be aware of what is going on.
I can assure you I will still attend the home games and cheer the team on as I have always done.

As an "exile" Peter, I count upon people like you to give us accurate information and I value your reports and opinions very much indeed. And it is, as you say, good communication for us fans to be aware of what is going on. Whilst I have no objection to Conor doing the reports I'd like to thank you for all of yours.

What a state of affairs when personal honest appraisal of performance by players is frowned upon by club officials. Censorship at its worse. Thank you Peterlep for all your past efforts.

Yet another example of the dictatorship that now run the club, alienating yet another long time club volunteer.
And seriously, the players can’t take a little criticism after a poor performance, grow up!

Good lord, what a sad state of affairs when you can't give your honest opinion. Thanks for all you have done with your match report Mr Peterlep. just proves what the club has become in the last few years. I'm like Grandad in that I also have been following the Dolphins for many, many years but of late could not put up with the atmosphere at the farm and no longer attend....
The truth does hurt and players should take the criticism after all they are not gods...

I am not looking to get in to a battle or criticism of club officials - but want people to know why I am stepping down.
But really appreciate all your comments - many thanks guys. I did thoroughly enjoyed my time doing it and nice to hear how appreciated it was.

Peter, that is a real shame and thanks for all of your work up until now.
As this messageboard is independent of the club are you able to post your report or at least reproduce your final paragraph here? I hadn't read it (as frankly I was in no mood to revisit the game having suffered enough watching it!) and would like to read it.
Cheers.

Thank you Peter for all you have done over the years. Giving up your time to do this task, I for one am very grateful, your reports have been thoughtful, honest appraisals of the matches you have reported. Thank you.
As for the players and staff who didn't like your honesty.... did mummy and daddy not say no to you when you were little? Do they still wipe your a**e when you soil yourself? GROW UP! None of you, who have spat your dummy out over this, were here when Peter started doing this (assuming this is coaching and or playing staff). If you don't like it, DO BETTER.... pathetic

Wow, absolute shocker, I can only record one decent half I have seen at home this season and we didn't win that either, football is all about opinions and that's what a reporter reports, how can you pick positives out of a match when there is none.

Peter Just for the record are you also stepping down from doing our “ home games” resume for the Non league paper, I believe we are duty bound to do one as part of various commercial reasons? Or is this task also been passed to Connor? If so I assume you will have passed on the relevant details to him such as deadlines, etc we don’t want to be the only club not being covered on a Sunday On a personal note thanks for all your input over the years it’s always been a good read, and I’ve enjoyed the banter between us which I’m sure can continue going forward.

I no longer attend any games, like a few others, but I appreciate the honest summaries that Peterlep gave me to read. He said it as it was. Isn't that how it is supposed to be ?. Unfortunately the general rule in life today is that nobody is allowed to be offended - even if it is warranted. Cloud Cuckoo Land. When T.K was shoe-horned out a line from "American Pie" kept running through my mind- "Oh while the king was looking down the jester stole his thorny crown". No laughing matter since.

As a long term supporter I'm also not able to get to every game but go to home and away games when possible and I looked forward to reading Peters honest reports even to the games I went too as I always agreed with them so my thanks to you for your work over the years!
These players are paid if I go to work and put in poor performance after poor performance then I would expect questions to be asked! What do they expect!
Give us someone to cheer about even a shot on target would be nice atm!

It is a great pity that your reports are no longer on the website Peter. We have disagreed over the years on certain performances but I suspect that I was letting my heart overrule your steady head. Before coming on here I went to the new website to read you report and with the greatest respect to Connor, I was disappointed that your report was not there.
Unlike some on here I will be at as many home games as I can, notwithstanding caring duties, health and other commitments. However, I am sure that Steve Tully said nothing in his post-match interview that you would not have echoed.

Thanks for all your work, it is a great shame to hear this news.
I thought your report was very fair. I have not commented on what I think of what is going on, or has gone on, since TK's departure (I had little positive to say), but Saturday's game was the first time I felt I had wasted my time in attending and could find better things to do on a Saturday afternoon.

I'm sure I'm not the only one on here who would love to know A) who at the club made the decision that Peterlep's reports needed "censorship". B) which players actually were so badly effected by his reports. NAME AND SHAME. The reports were his reflection on the game and in the main were accurate and factual. Decisions like this latest one run the risk of widening the rift between club officials, who in the main are new to the club and the long standing supporters who have stood by the club for many years.

what an absolute shocker to read these posts! and there is further bad publicity on the Echo Non League page I always thought that Peterleps posts were objective although of course he is PTFC Fan and nothing wrong with seeing things from a Dolphins POV The BIG question is where do we go from here? Quite frankly I am very concerned about the future of The Club As is everyone on here who are literally pouring their hearts and their frustrations on to this forum. When i read that long time contributors recognisable forum names .dyed in the wool PTFC fans cannot bring themselves to go to the game then you know that we are in trouble! The BOD has to recognise that you cannot shoot the messenger(s).Messengers that have respect among the PTFC community As it is right now my ambition has shrunk to the HOPE that we retain our SLP status
BOD,we need more HOPE!
give us some HOPE before our faith and our attendances dwindle even further

Peter. I echo Rob's comments - I always read the reports in the NLP. Usually my first point of call. Thanks for all the reports you have filed over many years. As a Poole fan from far away we need reports like yours.
