Young players - FA Youth Cup - Dorset U18 Cup

All young players have pledged their loyalty and signed the necessary forms for next season. I have also a number of quality young players which i will be talking to in the close season.

We have also been excepted in the FA Youth Cup next season.

Also we will be applying to the Dorset Under 18s Cup.

Do you intend to only ever play u18 in Res team next season or will you not bring on the current crop of youngsters who did so well with the assistance of a few older ones,till they are ready to play for TK on a regular basis? and where are you going with this Youth Cup thing? not all current players will be eligable next season for this comp, so where will you get your players from? and what will happen to those like Mike Glavin, Ian Thornton, Shane Duggen and Ali Harris to name a couple all who are the wrong side of 18. This is not a complaint far from it, but I would like to know how you are intending to play it?

I have heard and read about the website that gives PTFC players a grading after each 1st team game, does anyone know who does it? and what criteria they use? I have seen Kevin Sciven get a 4 when he kept a clean sheet! and dave sturgess an 8 for 10 Mins play, this week who ever, gave a 4 to young bayston a 16 yr old in a 7-0 win, interesting logic, and how many times has Taffy Richardson been knocked with low scores, come on, he has been around a long time, do you feel authorised to grade him so low? anyone know who is this pundit? or is it TK in disguise!! views please.

being young reserve players playing at a high level, we are not able to compete in cup competitions because the first team will play in these comps, which we except.

However i feel it would be good as I have taken these players straight into senior football, they have missed out on cup comps. Hence applying to play in the 2 u18's comps.

Most of these cups are played misweek or sunday, this would not effect the senior players.

You will be talking about the ratings on the pooletownfc.tripod.com website which I host. I watch nearly all the games and I think it adds a bit of spice to rate the players. I use the same sort of system the newspapers do as follows. 1=awful - the sort of performance only seen once or twice a season, 2=seriously below par, 3=poor, 4= performing at a little below acceptable standard, 5=average - every player starts with 5, 6=moderately good, 7=good - a performance well above standard, 8=very good, 9=excellent, 10=outstanding. The ratings are completely subjective and personal and I always take the quality of the opposition into account which is why I sometimes give low marks for an easy win, and of course you can't make allowances for age. I hope I haven't been too harsh on the youngsters - they have all been superb this season- and although the overall ratings table is not up to date on the site I think that Gary Bartlett will come out as overall player of the season.
