Just a thought but with all the new interest in the club I suppose because of the success of the club in the vase I thought it might be a nice idea for ALL forum members to if possible tell everyone their first Poole Town FC game they ever came to.
I will start with my first game which was Poole Town v Canterbury City in the Southern league Southern Division on Saturday 2nd March 1985 (No score in the programme!) I was hooked from then on and also 'ball boyed' and also took the corner flags in after each game I attended. The team was: Jones, Chambers, Mulkern, Slater, Merrick, Baber, Nichol, Russell, Funnell, Courtney & Bridle - Oh the memories!!

Not as long ago as you Steve.
Poole v Totton - Jan 2008. Poole lost 2 nil - but I still came back. Taffy came on as a sub and got sent off within 5 minutes! - that was my lasting memory.

back in the mid 50s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Team: Kirk, Rickaby Drinkwater.McCourt Martin Cumner now the memory fails!! Front lines included Bill Gillett, Eric Bryant
PTFC were one of the first NL teams with floodlights and we used to have Mid week friendlies against teams like Pegasus and league teams....goood crowds too!! One of my greatest thrills..Watching Wilf Mannion in the red/white The other...our great 2-2 draw at Watford

my dads memory , played left back 4 chippenham town against poole . still have programe ? 1949. I believe when i first started my trips to the Stadium there was also Chippenham Utd as well. I know we used to play such exotic teams like Peasedown MW (miners welfare) Hoffmans Athletic Stonehouse, Cinderford Town etc in Western League Div2 which our reserves dominated...and when Mink and Mannion Utd as the Sunday Press called us went on the road..the locals turned out (about 5000 at Barnstaple as i recall) We were the team to beat but spent many fruitless years trying to get into the Southern League which was a closed shop. To see PTFC at Wembley will be the icing for me....but our bread and butter must be PROMOTION and our new ground. UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!

Used to pop along for ten or fifteen minutes of a few games when I first moved to Poole. My first proper memory is Micky H scoring a screamer against the Poppies in 2008.

It was as a young 12 year old i saw an article in the advertiser just after the takeover of our current board from derek block and decided the dolphins were the team for me brian chambers had just taken over as manager but i cant remember the team we played that day watched poole town only at home matches 1st but then followed the team both home and away as much as i could. I was ballboy at the stadium as a youngster although i moved to guernsey in 2000 and then to london in 2003 i have still followed the club as much as i can and although i cant attend many matches due to work i am glad i travelled down today i am so proud of the team and what they have achieved this season and for the last few seasons just hope we can get to wembley now. I watched the game with aide cullingfords bother in law today today unfortunately aide passed away 2 years ago mark his brother in law gave me some great photos that aide had taken of me and some other supporters both at the stadium and on our travels in our southern league days good memories of my time following poole town

Although my brother went to a few games in the 1991-1992 season I didnt start going till autumn 1992, and my first game was a 2-2 draw at Poole stadium against buckingham town.
As I was only getting into football at the time I alternated for a while between poole and bournemouth. But the latter was not a happy place at the time and after a few trips there in 93-94 I decided I'd had enough and It would be solely Poole for me from then on.

It was Poole v Hastings United which Town won 3-1 in about 59/60. I remember it was just after the stand was built and the old greyhound stand had just opened.
The following years saw players like Bobby Mason and Jackie Henderson sign for the club.

We first stumbled across it in the end of 2002-03 season. We have been going eversince. Our two boys have been in the program. The picture was taken by the echo at the start of 2004-05 season. It was pooring with rain and the boys have the biggest grins on their faces.(We have a copy of the photo in our wall). Players were the likes of Gary Bartlett, Boris, Spaldings and more.

Yes, Wimbledon did play at the Stadium. I seem to remeber a match in the (mid?) seventies where my dad picked me up from a sports day so that I could get to the second half. Sadly, (I think, but cannot be sure) we were 2-0 up and finished up at 2-2. I can remeber where I stood but not absolutely sure about the score. I can't remember my first game (as I was very young) but it would have been the mid 1960's; with my father and grandfather. My older brother remembers the Rickaby/Manion days. But the line up vs Canterbury (above) certainly brings back memories of my own. I probably shouldn't mention Ray Ames Vs Slough!

Not first match but just dug up some stuff from late 80s/early 90s when we had players such as Funnell, Manson, Platt, Ashely Coombes, Mike Turner, Craig Wilson, Nicky Dent, H dang (for a short while), paul Maloney, Craig Morrison, Andy Morley, Tommy Taylor, Matty Bown, etc. I notice that we won an FA premilminary Rnd match in 93/94 against Swanage & Herston 5-2. I remember going. Our scorers were Matty Bown, Craig Wilson, Clive Huxford (2) and a young man by the name of Taffy Richardson! Wonder what he's doing these days?

My memory of the town goes back to 1946,in their Western league times, playing against the likes of Welton rovers, Peasedown miners, Radstock town, etc. I was at these matches when the team was Bernard Ware in goal,Eric Woodrow, Ernie Dominey, Ted Kerslake,Ray Hitchmough, Tom McInnes, Freddie Ames, Eric Notley, Bill Langley, Stan Leck,Les Larby. I was still keeping in touch with Bill Langley in Australia where he has lived for a number of years but sadly has passed away now. I still have a programme of a match against Peasedown miners 1947 era. hop this is of some interest to some of you members.
