Any ideas why our fans haven't posted their backing in the numbers we should hope for?

they either are being complacent, don't realise the importance or haven't got the message yet-we will be putting the word out with appropriate detail just as soon as we get a home game to do it at!!
everyone who is aware must keep oushing the point!!

?'?? Well,it looks as if people in the UK have a heck of a lot on their plate so perhaps we are not at the front of their minds. OR.... could it be that a lot of supporters are not that enamoured of moving out to Bearwood,Tatnam is as close to our old home as possible AND it is,geographically, a great location. Remember that old programme slogan "The Town are back in Poole" we certainly improved our spectator numbers with that move and older supporters equate the football club being close to the Town centre. We support our team through thick and thin but if a poll vwere taken of the 200 regulars as to where they would prefer PTFC to play A. A close to Town centre location B.at Bearwood, closer to Wimborne than Poole The results could be surprising!! Personally i have always thought that we should be somewhere where we can work with local busness to our mutual benefit. The brutal fact is that when major business and cultural events move out to the burbs then Town centres suffer...look at us in N. America. Many smaller towns (and not so small!!) hollowed out as activity has been concentrated on the outskirts. UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!

I love Tatnam! If there was anyway we could stay there then I would support that. BUT............If we want to continue our journey back to where we belong, and beyond. Then we have to leave! And Bearwood is the best fit, in fact we may get to the point where it becomes a firm favourite. So, sadness tinged with excitement for me! Bring on Bearwood!

Expat - Staying at Tatnam is not an option, not if you want PROMOTION. Please take the time to READ the planning application documents on the website in particular the Alternative Site Assessment. What you want just does not exist. It is Bearwood or Wessex League. If the message was clear from fans, that they wanted Wessex League, we would not be so focussed on chasing a £2M dream.

Fran, I think this is the result of two things.
1. There is a core of 20-30 of us that keep in touch here or join the supporters club (or both). We have all supported the application.
2. However much noise we make here, most of the 200+ crowd at Tatnam don't look on the board regularly or are not online and don't read the echo.
The closing date for comments is 7th January so it is up to us to mobilise the troops.
I will be back later with some ideas.

Some very good and thoughtful comments here BUT it has to be Bearwood or - stagnate in the WL!! I don't know what else we can do so I look forward to your ideas John but time is tight. On the positive side, only one objection is good news when compared to last time and I believe we'll win this time around. COYD

The way i see it is,its a no brainer,we have to move to Bearwood,i like Tatnam too,and being in the centre of Poole, but any land that becomes available in Poole is to precious to Poole council or some property developer. I think Expat is being a little unfair as there really seems to be only one place left to go if we want promotion, maybe if the word "Poole" was in the name of the new stadium then that would seem a little more like the homeland

OK here is what we need to do. - 1. Use the Media. CD use your time on the Bay to tell peoople what to do to register.
- 2.Steve Bean. Put links to the planning lication on the home page of the web site.
- 3. Everyone. Send a personal e-mail to everyone in your email address book explaining why it is important to support the application. Badger your family.
- 4. Ask other teams supporters to help. Especially those that we have friendly relations with. I will contact the Hayes and Yeading boys can someone contact Whitely Bay, Bodmin, Thame etc*
- 5. Have somepre printed letters that need only to be addressed and signed ready for the game against Brock on the 4th. This is the last chance to get support as all comments have to be in by the 7th.
- Write a letter to the editor of the Echo.
That is all I can think of at the moment. *Advice needed here to ensure that we do not get other fans commenting against the plan.

i know this might be a bit late but why havent we had a partion to sign at home games in the last couple of months where all the poole fans and all other teams supporters could have signed.there is a lot off pooles fans that have not got access to laptops or computers but would im sure would have signed.

It's best if it's personal support via the planning@poole.gov.uk - quick and easy if you have access to e-mail. I like your 3, 4 and 5 ideas John, especially 5! The ready printed letters of support can be signed and adressed there and then and handed back to club officials on the 4th Jan and then passed on in bulk to Poole Council Planning Dept. Not ideal but at the last minute better than nothing.

Good points John A. and several suggestions by others too!! The question above was asked and I answered it. Yes I know we all have to sing from the same hymn book but it is refreshing to see what a bit of discussion engenders. KEEP UP THE PRESSURE ON AND OFF THE FIELD!!
Looking forward to my 0700 start on the 27th!!

Brilliant John, you're a star!! Wish I could help. Let's hope the Brock home game is on!! .........just a thought!!! December 27th and PTFC have played 16 league games. This season cannot possibly end in April. When our new home is built perhaps we should do a costing exercise on an artificial surface, underpitch warming, or both!! or we can do a BAA and pretend that a colder winter climate is a figment of someones imagination!!.

Johna A superb effort mate, if we all print off 20 blank copies of this letter and bring them down to the Brock game it will lighten the load, remember you can use more than one per household, as long as it is a different name each time, lets really push this and get as many of these duly signed and collated on the 4th so we can submit them before the closing date of the 7th. John have you printed a few copies off? if so we would appreciate a few put at both turnstiles prior to KO, hopefully along with sterts flyer? Sadly we need the assistance of you the supporters to deal with this as match day is a very busy time for all the BoD, John would you be able to take "Command" of this, or if not, persuade someone to assist you? This is really our last chance to make a difference, I am sure the CD will encourage a few of our players to sign up if not already done so. Anyone else out there prepared to support this great initiative of Johns?

I'll print off 60 Rob I'll put 10 in the bar, 10 in the tea bar, 10 at each turnstile and take 20 around "encouraging" people.
I will also collect them and get them to the civic centre.

We all do what we can Brian and there are many more doing much more than me. The online form has now been used more than 40 times, it can only be used to support the application. None of those comments are yet on the PBC website.
I hope that we will have over 100 supporting the application by the end date on Friday.
