Did the leaflet drop today and the plans for the ground are very good.It is very sympathetic to it's location taking care of residents concerns and will be a great home for the Dolpnins.Time for Poole Council to support what we are doing.

A huge THANK YOU to all the terrific supporters who turned out this morning to help with the leaflet drop-you now who you are and without you this exercise wouldnt have been the success it was and we would not have been able to demonstrate thesort of responsible approach to keeping locals informed that is such a vital part of the planning process.
Mark Bumford deserves a particular vote of thanks for having orchestrated the logistics of the morning and also after having found time beforehand to set up Dylan and our under 9's team who were representing the club in the Poole Xmas procession. All part and part of maintaining the club's profile and letting the Council know (the Mayor madea point of speaking to Mark)just what a big part we play in the life of Poole and its people.

I believe tomorrows echo may well run a story, if not tomorrow sometime this week, on our planning permission which we have now submitted to PBCC for our new home, hence the urgency to get the leaflet drop done today. I am sure if anyone is that keen chris may have a disc that shows the design, but if you are anything like me they confuse me!!! Sufice to say it looks great, with two goals ( one each end) with a nice clubhouse above the main stand and plenty of car parking spaces, ooh I am now getting a bit excited.

Apologies for not turning out. The mind is willing but the flesh is still too weak. SNAP. Like you I was down to wander through the leafy glades that are Bearwood but that lingering manflu turned into something more serious. Still it seems that we are both on the mend now. Hope to see you at a home game soon.

Well done everyone, so sorry I couldn't be with you this time. I did enjoy doing it the first time, sadly, circumstances conspired to prevent me from doing what I really wanted to do today. Again well done

Another big THANK YOU to everyone who helped and to those who were prevented from helping but would have done. It's very frustrating for us exiles to have to sit idly by!!

I may have taken CD's comments the wrong way but I feel very hurt to think that because that some of us didn't help out with delivering leaflets incidentally due to the both of us actually working that he feels the need to more or less say we are not interested??!! Well we are!! Why not fully publicise the plans to a greater audience and in turn I'm sure that will create great interest....

Steve, Mark and Chris,
I am probably teaching my Grandmother to suck eggs here but it is worth saying. It is worth remembering that the forum membership is over 500 but the active members are probably in the 30s. The supporters club, (I will be joining soon Steve), is also quite small and most of the members are also the active members of the forum.
Amongst the crowds of 200+ that grace Tatnam, a few are away supporters, many are elderly and some only want to watch a football match. So there is at most 50 activists and each of them has only so much time.
I don't know how Steve fits in his work, family life, Cricket, Speedway and support for the Dolphins and work for the Supporter's Club.
I am also in awe of the way that Mark fits in a pressured work life with the time and effort he puts into the club. I am sure that Mark's comments were written at the end of a hectic and tiring day. I used to be Chairman of a Sports and Social Club and fully recognise Mark's frustration.
Don't take it personally Steve, and to all I say sometimes we need to take a reality check. If we all give all we can to the club and assume that everyone else is doing the same we won't go far wrong.
....But then sometimes we all need a kick up the backside so keep doing what your doing Mark.

Thanks Chris and John,
Yes maybe the words were said after a tiring/hectic day and Mark and the BOD we salute you!! but please don't any of you doubt that there is so much support for this project and I wish personally there was another way that we ALL could help out in doing our own little bit for the club.
Some may like to deliver leaflets some may just like to raise awareness to friends and family about what is happening and I think they are both valid in their own way.
BOD be assured you have 100 per cent backing from all of the loyal in the task of gaining a new horizon...

I can't say when exactly that really depends on them, but they do intend to run a story. Sorry if it is frustrating.

Well we are!! Why not fully publicise the plans to a greater audience and in turn I'm sure that will create great interest.... Steve - Yesterday was a tough day. I had to sort Dylan out and was down at the quay at 9am until 10.15 going straight to the delivery. Some people did not turn up and did not let me know they would not be coming, meaning last minute changes to plans. Delivery took longer than planned (as we were low on numbers) which meant rushing at the end to get one daughter to Turlin Moor for her PTFC Ladies Match. Yes I was tired, but I am also frustrated that there was little interest in supporting this. A response from the regular contributors to say, sorry would love to help but can't due to work or whatever, would have at least left us feeling like people were aware of the efforts being made and were not just ignoring the pleas for help. The leaflet drop was mentioned in the last programme and would have been in Saturdays as well had the game happened. This is not personally aimed at you, just a general reply as you seemed to take it personally.

Mark, apologies that I didn't warn you in advance that I wouldn't be able to make it. Family circumstances meant I had to stay in Devon, and unfortunately that slipped my mind. For that I apologise. Having a pop at some of us, who normally are there for the club is not fair, and to be honest, at the moment I have other matters that are more important but I will try to be there for theclub when needed.

The title of this thread is Our New Home. Lets remember that and what it means to us all. One of the things that made me come out of the closet and start coming o PTFC matches was the friendliness of the forum. I found that same friendliness when I started to attend matches. Looking over other forums, this is a different animal and it is a different club. The term family club is often used but implies purely a child friendly club. This is a friendly club in every sense and both friends and families fight but usually work well together most of the time. Other club's forums are littered with internal fighting and are ignored by the clubs officials. This club IS different. Lets keep it that way Although the club is run in a very professional way, none of you are professionals, giving your time freely. I agree with Mark that it is courteous to let him know if you can't make it but in an emergency sometimes it is not possible. So lets learn the lessons from this episode and move on. I can't make it tonight but I am sure you will all be there singing and shouting. Have one for me .
