Twitter news from the planning meeting that the council committee have voted in favour and have given approval for planning permission for the new ground at Bearwood.
Unsure of any conditions/rights of appeal as yet, I'm sure that when the others return from the meeting we'll learn more. YYEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

Brilliant! ;D I seriously thought it was gonna be turned down But each one of them seemed to be convincing eachother to pass it! They could not find a reason to turn down such a great application and opportunity for the town. Just a few niggles to sort out such as the car park surface, and sight lines at the traffic lights on Magna Road, but all sounded simple things to sort out Well done to all involved!

Not trying to put a damper on things but there was a lot of talk about putting conditions on the approval, one of which was a 106 which precludes developement on the rest of the site. (We are only using 20% of the overall site). How the owner will feel about things now is debatable. Whilst it allows us to go ahead, it will prevent him from developing the rest which I'm sure was in his mind when he first offered the land. Brilliant news all the same. The councillors were unanimous in granting approval and many of them spoke passionately about the need for a home for PTFC.

Agree with what RTS said. There are still problems ahead and they are other peoples, not ours. It was a well conducted meeting and all present were congratulated by the Chairperson.
The meeting was awash with red and white and Dylan shook everyone's hand/flipper.
Now the hard work really starts. To raise the £2 million to build it.

Never thought that these words would ever pass my lips.
Well done Poole Borough Council.
You acknowleged the quality of our Planning Application.
Two comments that i will remember: "You have been passed from pillar to post" "Poole Town Football Club needs to be in Poole"
Could not have put it better myself.
What a week for our club on and off the pitch. COYD!!!!!!!!!!!!

This season i have really got into following Poole town but have been at uni so only started going to games over my easter break. Went to the meeting today, was disappointed half way through because it looked like it was going against us, but the councillors were great in finally supporting the club. Poole Town are becoming my no.1 team BBC Sport has already reported on us getting the approval, we do seem to have attracted a lot of national attention news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13082004.stm

Well done everyone who worked so hard to bring this about, including Chris Reeves, Clive Robins, Mark Bumford and the list goes on.
It's good to make the Branksome Rec look a distant memory and for once see the borough councilors on side.
I know many will say "now the hard work starts", but don't let that belittle what magnificent non stop, get up off the floor and go again, effort that has gone on in the last few years.
Take time out, if only for the evening, to crack open a bottle or two and lay back and savour what has gone on before and this fantastic victory.
Well Done all, both for the tatnam grading and the new development.

If we'd set two targets this year, then they would have been promotion and planning permission. That we have achieved both, without a groundshare and with great runs in the Vase and FA Cup.

Great result and I was extremely proud to be a Poole Town supporter at the meeting, as the way the supporters behaved during the meeting was a credit to the Club
