Questions, questions Thought it might be a good idea to have a questions thread about the NEW Ground, now its passed planning. Does the new ground have an official name yet? or what is its proper location name? Is it Bearwood or Canford Magna, its just it seems to be getting called both at the moment. Thanks Just wanted to make sure I was calling it the correct name.

I'm just gonna ask a few more questions, and hopefully its useful 1. What's the next step in getting the new ground built? 2. Can the fans help in anyway? 3. Does the Club need to raise a lot of money to get things moving?

Dan,
The first thing we have to do is raise the money. Don't expect to see bulldozers at Bearwood just yet. The money from the FA Cup and Vase was the same amount that was used on the Tatnam Upgrade. So although we are told that the club is in the black, we will have to raise much much more.
Their are grants and loans available from the FA and the Football Trust and I am sure there will also be help with the 3G pitch from somewhere. However most of the money will have to be raised by us.
So raffles, a virtual wall or stadium, new sponsorship, etc.
Expect to see the puppy that is Mark Bumford turn into a Rottweller for the duration.
As for the name of the Stadium, probably the Arthur Robins Stadium although maybe sponsorship would lead to the Sunseeker, Castle Cover, LV, Sydenhams Stadium. Maybe we could follow Arsenal and use an Airline, perhaps the Flybe Stadium. Perhaps the BA stadium indicating how much help we have had from outside until the last few weeks? I quite like the working title of Bearwood Park.
On a serious note the main thing we can do is help save and raise money. Buy your season ticket for next season as soon as you can, always buy a golden goal. Join the 100 Club. Put change into collecting boxes in the Clubhouse, Cafe and Turnstiles. Join the supporters club.
Oh and duck behind the stand when you see Mark coming!

As John has said. Fundraising starts now, we have to pay towards the ground.

How about a sponsored walk from AFCB to Tatnam on the day of the preseason? Needs organising from within the Supporters Club or others. Happy to participate. Free entry to anyone who raises more than £25 £30 voucher at Megastore or TSL (for PTFC items) for anyone who raises over £100. This will get you a replica shirt if that's what you want.

As we have previously discussed CD, count me in! The two 'slimsters' to strut their stuff - eh CD!! Maybe a more strenuous longer walk later in the year to raise more funds for the club - maybe an idea? I am up for it!!! (For those that are interested, as of today I have lost 5 stones in weight since October and I have personally 1 stone to go!!)

Two questions - they may appear very trival in the grand scheme of things, but:
1. Will there be an area for securing bicycles?
2. The plan shows the visitors stand behind the South goal. This means the home supporters behind the other goal will have the sun in their eyes! Is this right?

1. That detail not yet considered...................until now. 2. I believe that could go at either end and if funds allowed, perhaps even both.

A Sponsored walk sounds a great idea, how about going from AFCB to Tatnam (Fortress) then to Bearwood (the new Fortress)

TYLO brilliant post, best for a long time in every forum i am at. This is what we all need. East - West grounds are the pits for me, myopic blind ref that I am would always love North - South as indeed my Spiritual Home "The Manor" was.
Get on the task Mr Bumford, you know where we are coming from (Beech Rd) ;-)

What about sponsor/ buy a brick or block. A wall with your name, business, group or society on it. People like to think that their contribution will remain for ever. CD could persuade clubs to have one with their club badge on, try to get every league club and as many non-league as possible, a whole wall of club badges would be quite unique I would think. There must be plenty of people around the clubs who have or had association with the area that would be willing to have one, then it becomes who will be the ones conspicuous by their absence. Breaking ground at the site will get people keener to get involved when they see something is happening.

In the plans for the new ground it does not show if the pitch surround is flat of terraced.
AFC Totton's new ground has terracing around the perimeter.
While this will add cost to the initial build,it would be cheaper to do it at initial construction than at a later date.
And if an upgrade is needed at Bearwood if we rise up the leagues, then fit seats cover with a small stand, job done.

I believe that the plans shown so far have to be viewed as outline plans as there is a lot of detail that needs to be worked out. However I would like to see terracing too.
At the Whitely Bay match I said to someone that Tatnam could easily take 2000. I was told that I may be able to see with two or three in front of me, but most people are not 6ft 3in. So terracing is the way, and it can be built so that it can be easily converted to seats.
