This is like Poole Town accomplishing the treble!! and tonight was a defining moment in the clubs recent history. Everyone has put in so much hard work to try and steer the club on to more solid ground, non more so than Clive Robins and Chris Reeves, so it was a pleasure to see the reward reflected on their faces when downing a celebration pint. It was therefore ironic it was in a pub owned by Mr Eades, the opposition's councilor

This is where the hard work really starts, A historic day for Poole Town FC and the Borough Of Poole. Now we have to get the planning permission. I had a reply from the letter to our MP which was very interesting, he had to sit on the fence, but mentioned Sports England grants :-) I think we are all extremely proud of the work done by the Chairman and Vice Chairman, our commercial manager now will be chasing his own tail til further notice!! The Future's Bright, The Future's Red And White. We now have to make sure we are an asset in every way to the local community to prove the doubters wrong, and allay any fears. PS could never set foot in an Eades establishment, hope you all wiped your feet on the way out.

I would just like to add as a Poole Town fan I have nothing personal against Mr Eades or any of the opposition. The whole idea of locating the club at BR is to be part of the community and not alienate ourselves. It would be another plus for the club if at some point those who were against the proposal could one day see the positives and perhaps join in.

I have nothing personal against anybody BRAG/Friends wise, and can to a point understand their worries, just Cllr Eades and the whole way he has conducted himself is very sad. Hopefully before long this will be behind us all and this will be seen as a great turning point for all.

Thank you so much all who were at what hopefully will prove to be amomentous night in our history thanks especially to Cliff Barrett who drove from Basingstoke and paraded around in the Dolphin suit to great effect-what a star!! your behaviour was impeccable amidst great provocation at times and you did yourselves and the club proud and I know you impressed manycouncillors both on the top table and in the audience I look forward to seeing you on the 11th at the labour club-we need a big turn out that night-we have huge fund raising to do now!!!!

Well done to you and all the speakers last night Chris! Check out all the e-mail response to the article in the Echo, loads & loads of support from a lot of the real residents & supporters of common sense about 90% of positive remarks!! I must commend the chair person last night who kept everyone in check and actually put his 'neck on the block' by his final comments before the vote, then put his money where his mouth is with his casting vote that went in our favour! Great behaviour from all our fans & supporters shame the same cannot be said about the BRAG supporters!

Great behaviour from all our fans & supporters shame the same cannot be said about the BRAG supporters! Agreed Hubster. The one fella with the overgrown Eyebrows kept interupting and shouting out. I thought he was going to explode when the vote went our way. The other old fella........who claims to have cleaned the Pavilion......was also told by the Chair to stop constantly shouting and interupting. He then commented that should apply to everybody! Don't know what planet he was on, but HE was the ONLY one interupting at that time. At the end as we were leaving, i heard him remark that he would like to smash his sign over one of our heads. Not sure who the Hooligans are supposed to be, but I think we should fear them more than the other way around.

HANG ON! I don't want to spoil the party but aren't we being a bit premature. As I understand it the decision was taken by an 'Overview and Scrutiny Committee' and now has to go to the Council Cabinet (or is it the full council?) for approval. Is that a formality or is there way that the Cabinet will overturn it?
Is there any other way that the opposition to the scheme could appeal?

I hope that the Cabinet will see fit to follow the lead of the O & S Committee and grant our request for Branksome rec. Nothing is 'nailed on' but we have many supporters within the elected councillors and few detractors. The anti brigade tend to be Lib Dems or disaffected ex Conservatives who just use the argument for political gain rather than addressing the issue from the standpoint of 'what is beneficial to the Borough. I hope we will win through but do not expect a calm ride!!!

The message i've had from my dealings with Councillors has always been very positive, especially from the "old fuddy duddies"! I believe the Lady Mayor is positive about things.

Assuming the Cabinet follow the O & S Cttee lead I presume that planning permission has to be sought from the Planning Committee which, I believe, is relatively independent. I think that Planning Committees can only turn down applications on 'planning grounds' and that both sides again have a right to air views for and/or against at the Planning Committee meeting. Is that correct?
