Just thought I would check out a few things and help transmit a reasonable picture of things at the rec Below the road running paralel with the rec on a Saturday afternoon - clear and with no hinderance to access. Below an example of a restricted Street, taken on a Sunday afternoon elsewhere in another town. Again a pic taken on Saturday Afternoon looking East on the rec, note the little use. This time to the West, the area in front of the pavilion and part of the land to be used for the planning application, again taken on a Saturday afternoon and showing very little use. The empty carpark at BR on a Saturday afternoon.

;D ;D ;D
looks like parking is going to be at a premium....perhaps we need to push the public transport angle harder..its definitely going to be the best way to get there for most people, do we charge for parking on match days??....have to agree with you on the underuse of the facilities, thank you M3 for putting our case into these photos.

Well done - yet again - m3! I know you say it's a team effort and it is, but what would we do without you?

Well done - yet again - m3! I know you say it's a team effort and it is, but what would we do without you? Brian, It is a team effort. I do it for the good of the club and the shirt, not any individual, least of all for self gratification. It's not until you talk to all involved at the club from all levels (from the tea girls to the manager to the directors) that you realise the passion to see this club prosper and get on an even keel. Years ago the supporters built a main stand at the Stadium, what commitment!! let's show that commitment still exists and their hard work was not in vain. *Team work*, both on and off the pitch!!

The first photo dispels the calls of concern over limited access for Emergency service vehicles in the roads around BR, that was mentioned by some anti BR campaigners. As you can see with the green car at the end on the right, the road is roughly *four vehicles plus wide*. The only width restriction is by speed limiter pinch points which obviously meet all highway regulations.
Photo two demonstrates a real restricted street, with around *three vehicles plus wide* yet still displays enough thoroughfare for Emergency vehicles. So as you can deduct The roads around BR are not nearly as restrictive as roads else where.

Having been there more than once on a Saturday and Sunday morning recently, does not seem to get that much busier. Sterte don't kid yourself that it looks that peaceful all the time, it just depends on what time of day it is. I'm presuming that M3 took those before coming to a game at the Tatnum, so the Saturday afternoon rush would not have started Saturday Morning from 9am you have all the kids teams Saturday Afternoon from approx 2.30pm to 5pm you have all the adult teams Sunday morning from 10.00am-1.00pmish you have another load of adult games Unless you get there really early you have no chance of getting in the car park During the week it is obviously a lot quieter as no floodlights equals no midweek games

Photos were taken just after 5pm and as you can see what traffic and users were there, dispersed pretty quick.

Here is a similar green park area within Basingstoke. In the background are two giant hangers for indoor multi tennis courts, plus an outside floodlit area, again with multi courts. This is obviously much larger than what is planned for BR, access is limited by one road and parking is small in comparison with the size of the complex, smaller than at BR. This has been operating for years now with no problems and has put to good use an area of public land, for the public. Dog walkers and other sports still enjoy the local parks benefits. As you can see the trees and bushes have done a sterling job in shielding such a large complex's impact on the eye.

Correct, Branksome rec is also flanked on one side by a main road, the A3040 Alder road and has direct and easy access via good traffic controls to other main roads, North to South, East to West. A mainline railway station, Branksome is also well within a mile.

As Cliff says in this thread, years ago the Poole Town supporters club built the stand at the stadium, also they supplied the floodlights and supporters club amongst other things, before having them taken away (Thanks to Bernard Ewart Liberal mayor at the time, better known as 'DOLPHIN KILLER') If you go to Poole stadium there is still a small ceramic plaque concreted into the wall above the old entrance. If we get the decision on the 26th should we not remove it and relay it at BR? I would take a photo of the plaque but i'm not sure how to get the photo on here. Any chance Cliff?

;D ;D ;D ohhhhhhhhhhh Benito!! Yes PTFC built the Wimborne Rd stand and the supporters built the facilities underneath for the Supporters club. I do beleive that we are not going down at the hands of the politicians again, those with long memories know that PTFC has always had to paddle its own canoe with precious little help from PC. I hear that Weymouth are not in that good shape financially now but when they were our main rivals I used to be in Weymouth every other day on business and their support went from the man in the street to the Mayor's Office how did they get their new stadium??

I'm next down on Saturday so will nip over to the Stadium and take a pic of the plaque. Is it in the old stand side?

Have done the walk from Branksome railway station to the Wreck, took about 15 minutes with my 4 year old!! And it only took 8 minutes from Poole on the train. The Railway appears to be a fine hostelry

The empty car park at BR on a Saturday afternoon. This is a much smaller car park than BR, close to a town centre with limited access. With proper markings this small car park is able to hold approx 50 vehicles organised in an orderly fashion. It's fair to say a professionally marked out car park would be more efficient than an unmarked car park.

When you go to the Stadium go past the old PTFC club, round the back is the old entrance there is two single doors each side of a big double door the plaque is above the big double door from memory.

;D ;D ;D two very different (but are they connected??) stories in the echo 1.Yobs out of control on bourne estate 2.Branksome Rec residents want it turned into a "town green" If we do win this decision, will BRAG ever come to some sort of living arrangement with the club or is it going to be a continual stream of complaints(whatever we do) going to PC. Did any of their representatives take up the fair offers made by the club and its supporters. I commend Cllr Adams for his response to a complaint about car clogged streets. PTFC were alleged to be the culprits but enquiries proved WE WERE NOT THERE!!
UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!

With reference to the proposed two metre high wall that is to surround the pitch - here is a section of fence, two metres high, which has had some mixtures of ivy encouraged to grow on it. Fence or wall, the visual impact now looks natural.

Expat, sadly it appears that Mevinglen and co did not want to take up our offers of hospitality. They seem to be sticking to one old worn out arguement now, if they had at least come and seen us and then decided that they still didn't like us then fair enough. I believe most of the Borough have now seen through Cllr Eades and his merry band.
