this is open to the public and our opponents will be there we MUST have a strong presence-we are very confident that the community benefits of our scheme will find favour with the all conservative cabinet but they will be challenged by the lib-dems with questions from the floor and we need to show our support
please please keep the letters going both to echo and to the councillors e-mails as well we must show a paper trail of support and not just assume that it is obvious that the silent majority are in favour
this should be in political terms the last hurdle-the scrutiny group decision was immense but we should not be complacent

It would be useful to note the email address you need is:
p.adams@poole.gov.uk
Even a short 2 liner email confirming your support for the scheme will be SIGNIFICANT. Ive done my bit.

Re the e-mails, I have received responses (albeit fairly anodine) from Mr Adams and from Clive Smith at Poole Leisure Services. It seems Mr Adams passes comments on to Mr Smith. No reply yet from Mr Leverett.

please keep the e-mails going-if there is anyone reding this who hasnt sent one or anyone reading this who thinks they know someone who supports the scheme and may be prepared to e-mail then please please get typing!! a letter or two to the Echo letters page expressing the hope that the cabinet endorse the scrutiny group decision to recommend acceptance of our proposals when they meet on 2nd june I am so sorry to bang on but these things do influence councillors and the objectors are flooding the market!we need to be active too-we can't get complacent that the benefits of the scheme are so obvious that it's bound to happen

I am not a native of Poole but I have managed to motivate all my friends who approve of this scheme to send in letters or emails of support - some fifteen in all - and i've checked back with them to make sure they did what they promised. If all supporters of the scheme do not do the same then the position of the antis will be strengthened immeasureably. Come on now, put pen to paper, tap out those keyboards, ring all your friends, let the message ring out loud and clear: the residents of Poole want a facility for everyone - one that we can all be proud of. Report back on numbers promised and actually sent - don't sit in the Council chamber on the 9th and wish you'd remembered to recruit some support in writing, it will be too late.

12 of I disagreeociates have today sent e-mails and 10 acknowledgments received from Clr Adams so far, we must keep pushing this, come on guys it only takes a minute, but the success it brings will last PTFC a lifetime. Granny's aunts uncles, nephews, nieces grandchildren they all count.

the critical meeting is next tuesday 9th-if there is any single supporter who has not arranged for at least half a dozen others who favour the scheme to e-mail or write to the Echo--hold your head in shame-sorry to be melodromatic bujt this is politics no right minded person would agree that any remotely possible negatives outweigh the certain positives but politicians take notice of letter writers-please go for it!!!!!!!

In the other thread on this it says that the issue is to be put before the full council on the 9th - not just the cabinet! I guess that this improves our chances if we keep writing, e-mailing, lobbying and so on. And those able to turn up on the day do so again.

Apologies for registering for your forum when I am a Hammers supporter, but I'm also Chairman of Poole Sports Council. I e-mailed all the councillors (except the 1 with no e-mail address) yesterday with a letter of support from the Sports Council. I had several positive replies, 1 negative, 1 who couldn't open my word doc (I always forget some people don't have Word 2007) and 1 from the Mayor saying he has to be neutral. That is to your advantage - the new mayor is a Liberal Democrat who now can't vote, and now Joyce Lavender is no longer Mayor, she can. I am also hopeful that one or two personal contacts may be more positive than before. Best of luck for Tuesday, and then on to the Planning Committee.

There is absolutely no need to apologise, especially when you have made an effort on our behalf. Thank-you for your efforts. See you at Tatnum this season.

Thanks a lot Richard. I'd say that's not just excellent work in your role as Chair of the Sports Council but also real solidarity from a rival fan! Thanks again.
I've always held the view that the town of Poole should have one senior team at the highest possible level and even suggested a Dolphins-Hammers merger to stengthen that ideal. Apparenlty that won't happen so on to the next best option.
Good luck to you and the Hammers.
