In front of a crowd of nearly 200 the youth crashed out of the FA youth cup after a narrow 2-1 defeat to a well organised full time Torquay academy side, probably the best way to sum up the game is to say Poole enjoyed most of the possession and made far more passes than their opponents but never really threatened in the final third and to be honest some of the players never really performed to their full potential on the night, that said the journey todate has been great to be part of, raising the profile of the club so well done to the boys , scouts from Bolton, Reading and Brighton were in attendance to support this view. 1 down at ht probably against the run of play when the defence failed to clear from a corner, followed in the second half with another defensive mistake on the break torquay went two up. A late consolation goal in the last few minutes raised the home team hopes but it was not to be on the night, the work Shaun and TK have put into this young group I'm sure will benefit them allin the future, now our attention turns to the u21s which is the next target for these players is to try and break into this very talented team, this starts next Wed when they (u21s) play the full DPL side Blandford at Tatnam 19:30 KO
If you have enjoyed watching the progress of our u18s then you will really enjoy the u21s, who it is felt are the next level again, and more importantly the future of our club, your support would be appreciated
Well done to all the players tonight you have done PTFC proud
