I recently emailed someone from the club regarding Mark Samson but was told they had no recognition of him. He told me that he played for the club in the mid 80's and told me he started playing at 18, he is now 50. I have had the pleaseure of managing with him and playing alongside him for Poole Borough and Queens Park respectively. Over the last few years Mark has been battling Leukaemia and later a brain tumour. His wife contacted me last week to inform me that the tumour is now covering 80% of his brain and there is no more treatment available, and that he has e few weeks left at most. I was trying to find out from the club if they were willing to maybe stage a benefit match that might include some of his old team mates to at least help one of their own but unfortunately I am not getting very far at all. I have scoured the internet but there appears to be no information anywhere. I am not sure if the person I contacted was interested in helping or not. I am willing to help out in any way I can to organise something to help out Mark or at least the family he will leave behind.

So sad to hear. I played with Sammo at Queens Park Athletic for years. Best wishes to Mark, Kirsty & family.

Sadly you are asking at a wrong time. The club needs to upgrade Tatnam before 31st March and every non playing day is critical. We are even turning our own youth teams away until the upgrade is complete.

Doesn't necessarily need to be held at Tatnam.
